Ellen Page blames Mike Pence for Jussie Smollett attack

Actress Ellen Page fought back tears during an emotional rant against Vice President Mike Pence Thursday night, telling CBS host Stephen Colbert that the conservative former Indiana governor wants to cause “suffering” to the LGBTQ community.

Mrs. Page, who married Canadian dance choreographer Emma Portner last year, appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” saying she was “really fired up” about what happened to Jussie Smollett, the “Empire” star who says he was attacked and peppered with racist and homophobic insults in downtown Chicago this week.

“It feels impossible to not feel this way now with the president and the vice president, Mike Pence, who wishes I couldn’t be married,” Mrs. Page said.

The “Flatliners” star then attempted to link Mr. Pence’s record on gay rights to the reported attack against Mr. Smollett.

Choking back tears, Mrs. Page continued: “Kids are going to be abused and they’re going to kill themselves and people are going to be beaten on the street. I have traveled the world, and I have met the most marginalized people you could meet.

What attack? Chicago pd got their orders to stop looking let the hoax go. Do not charge him with a false report let's name a day after him and campaign with him. He will be front stage for the next two years. He will get a book deal and key to the city. Democrats have spoken.

Ellen Page is not an American. Deport her. There are plenty of American women who can act. She is not needed here.

I keep wondering how he could have bleach poured over his head and his clothes be un-damaged (he could have shielded his eyes). His clothes should have been stained white and possibly have holes in them.
