Gap between rich and poor growing, fueling global anger

Tax systems that put a high burden on the poor mean public services are underfunded, stretching the gap between rich and poor and fueling global public anger, Winnie Byanyima, executive director of Oxfam International, said on Monday.

The Nairobi-headquartered charity said in a report that a new billionaire was created every two days last year, just as the poorest half of the world's population saw their wealth decline by 11 percent.

The report, released on Monday as political and business leaders gather for the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, said governments are increasingly underfunding public services and failing to clamp down on tax dodging.

"Poor people suffer twice from being deprived of basic services and also paying a higher burden of taxation," Byanyima said in an interview.

The gap between the " Middle Class " and the poor is shrinking. The middle class does not aspire to be Billionaires but they certainly don't want to be lumped in with the poor and that is what is happening. Politicians fan the flames of division and the media reduces it to socio-economic class, cultural, race and gender relations. Leading all to think they deserve something. Whether it be a living wage job and future in the dream or a hand out. Everyone wants a fair shake. I am a second generation American. My grandparents came here with nothing. Followed the work all over the nation ended up owning property sent their boys to war and back and all got educations and owned property and provided no matter the struggle or sacrifice
A hell of a lot more than a bunch of old indentured crackers that families claim to have been here 200 years and still have not a pot to piss in and think they are some how Truer Americans or Patriots and none of them Billionaires. The American Dream is not some G rated Disney and Churchy fantasy. It's HARD work and Toil. You may not realize it and your children and grands may not as well if you don't LEAN IN. Hyper Consumerism and our fragile economy has made us a Nation of wanters. We use to be a Nation of workers and builders and savers. When we had that power the politics were just weather forecasts and silly blustering's and peoples humble lives went on we worked raised our own and got on with getting on. The typical retiree now does not even have a million dollars in the bank.

The elite are letting us know that they know how we feel.
It doesn't mean they will stop counterfeiting the US Dollar.
They will continue to create fiat currency out of thin air debasing that very thing we are exchanging for our labor. Stealing our labor. Removing our ability to save for the future. Demanding instead that we "invest" for the future. Why? Because the currency will lose its value and if you save it you will lose wealth. Therefore we should invest in the elite's casino - wall street, the stock market.

Good luck with that.

Hard work is what made America great. The longtime socialist agenda is to give free stuff away without earning it so they can rule the masses. Read and study the lives of those who tried it and failed. We must not allow history to repeat itself here in America. It was never meant to be that way here. That is what makes us different.

"The typical retiree now does not even have a million dollars in the bank" I guest that makes me typical. Sorry, but I don't worship money.
