President Trump Signs Harris Bill into Law to Rename Postal Office Honoring Local Fallen Hero

WASHINGTON, DC: President Trump signed H.R. 4913 to rename a United States Postal facility in honor of the deceased Sgt. Maj. Wardell B. Turner. Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) authored H.R. 4913, which designates the United States Postal facility located at 816 East Salisbury Parkway in Salisbury, Maryland, as the ‘‘Sgt. Maj. Wardell B. Turner Post Office Building.”

Congressman Harris made the following statement about the postal office’s renaming:

“I am proud to honor Army Sgt. Maj. Wardell Turner by renaming the Postal Office in Salisbury. President Trump and I recognize the honor and sacrifice Sgt. Maj. Turner made for his country. As a veteran, I admire Sgt. Maj. Turner greatly, and his life was a courageous example of strength, dignity, and patriotism. In his passing we will remember him as well as the legacy he left behind with his five children, Shayla, Quinton, Devin, Wardell II, Xavier, several grandchildren, and his devoted wife, Katherine.”
