Immigrants who legally use public benefits like food assistance and Section 8 housing vouchers could be denied green cards under new rules.
The proposal, aimed at keeping out people the administration deems a drain on the economy, could affect millions of poor immigrants.

LONG OVERDUE
This was the way it was supposed to be.
Great job Trump, there are enough freeloaders in our country, no need to add more!
About time. No more hand outs. Hope it includes abolishing health care - like child birth.
Being enrolled in Obamacare is considered receiving assistance because Obamacare is subsidized.
If they were poor in their home country and now they are poor here, why the hell did they even come here? Our government lets these people come here. They have nothing to offer our country and do not want to work here like they did not work in their country. People who will work are not allowed to come here. They have slowed the amount of people coming from the Philippines to almost nothing. Those people work hard and are skilled. Now we have refugees from Africa coming here to sit on their butts like they did in their home country and our government gives them benefits. WE pay for those benefits, not the government. This has to stop. Some of these refugees live better than Americans do. No way in hell that should happen.
