WRDE Finally Admits They've Been Bought Out, Anchors, "This Was News To Us"

Because SBYNews broke this story early this morning that WBOC bought out WRDE, they finally exposed the information in tonight's broadcast stating the staff had no idea, more to come in the coming weeks, they said, rolling their eyes.

Let's remember that the blonde, (don't know her name) had been hired by WRDE but was held off from going on the air for months because she was still under contract as a WBOC former employee. Hence the rolling of her eyes at the end of the broadcast.

I feel sorry for the staff of WRDE I wish they had stayed like they were, I liked them better than WBOC. I imagine it won't be long before WBOC ends since Tom Draper died they have gotten worse, the weather forecasts are terrible, "Dan said it would be like this" is a joke whatever he protects is always of the mark. He doesn't know day from night let alone weather.

Never heard of any of them.

Anne Imanuel. From Florida, really nice lady.

Not a done deal until FCC review is completed!

I sincerely hope they use WBOC's Milton studio and keep the same new team (supplement if necessary) and produce an majority independent news cast focused on their service area (Rehoboth beach, southern Delaware with a bit of Salisbury mixed in)

I hope it's just not replays of WBOCs news which is already on WBOC, FOX21 and Telemundo.

Why would they air this story if it is pending FCC review?

I hope 9pm is right and I also hope they get on some cable channels in Dorchester County. People forget that Sussex County borders the east side of Dorchester and Sussex News is more relevant than DC news from Channel 4.

Good luck on getting any reporting of any news on the eastern shore of Maryland. They do a poor job of reporting news and events in both Maryland and Virginia.

I get more eastern shore news from WBAL in Baltimore than I do from WBOC.

You will never know you live in Maryland based on the news from Delaware's news leader. They don't support us or the advertisers on the Maryland and Virginia side of the DEL-MAR-VA Peninsula!!!!!

They should take WBOC and move their station out of Salisbury. You would never know they had a station in Salisbury, because they rarely report any news and happenings in Salisbury or the crime problems here.

They are a disgrace to the DEL-MAR-VA peninsula.

We desperately need a station based on the eastern shore of Maryland that reports news and happenings in Maryland as well as Virginia.

They do a disservice to both states and should have had their license revoked long ago!

Isn't this newscast from the midwest? Doesn't WRDE funnel out their newscast to a different company? I thought the only local person was Abbey Smith and the reporters?

Joe does she say tempchur instead of temperature? Might be a clue where shes from.

That is not true. Anne Imanuel never worked for WBOC. The anchors on screen work out of Little Rock, Arkansas at a production company. WRDE outsources their newscasts because they cannot afford to produce them on their own. Those anchors will still be employed by their production company which also produces newscasts for small stations in Florida, Indiana, New York, Louisiana and a few others. The WRDE local reporters (there are about 4 of them) will be dissolved into the WBOC news team, which will begin producing newscasts for WRDE, and simulcasting in other time slots.

Is DEL the only state in the nation without a major TV station (CBS/ABC/NBC)?

How come WRDE started doing their morning newscasts locally and the rest was still farmed out?

She’s a Sussex county hick you can tell by the way she says wuter.

WBOC = CBS
WRDE = NBC

Going to be interesting to see what changes DO happen. As for news/weather...I don't get it from a TV ;)

We need SBY NEWS on TV TOO!
