Sea Lice Outbreak Reported In Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. (WJZ) — Ocean City Beach Patrol is reporting numerous complaints about sea lice in the water.

A spokesperson for the patrol wrote on Twitter and Facebook, “They can get into bathing suits while swimming and cause discomfort.”
Eastern Seaboard is experiencing the nature phenomenon of Sea lice which is larvae. They can get into bathing suits while swimming and cause discomfort. best advice is to rinse with fresh water. if you choose to swim, swim in front of a lifeguard. Our stands are farther apart

Do lifeguards know where the sea lice are? Do adult jellyfish hang around with them?

sea lice come to ocean city via tourists from Baltimore and New Jersey

There are Bedbugs at the motels also.

Maybe they'll eat the bed bugs in the hotels. You never hear about that problem.

Lived here my whole life and never heard of sea lice. Sounds like bed bugs to me.

Lots of Head Lice on the heads of many of the Boardwalk owners, they are all from foreign countries where bathing is as foreign to them as they are!
