The American Medical Association announced on Wednesday it would back strict new gun-control measures including banning and confiscating certain firearms.
The measures, which the group called "common-sense," include outlawing not only the sale of what the group referred to as "assault-type" weapons but also their possession, outlawing the possession of any firearms by adults under 21 years old, a national gun registry, requiring a license to own any firearms, and gun buyback programs among a number of other proposals. The group also called for a ban on the possession of bump-fire stocks, stated its opposition to teachers being allowed to carry firearms in schools, and stated its opposition to national concealed-carry reciprocity. The group also called for the passage of a law which would bar those convicted of domestic violence offenses from owning guns even though federal law already includes such a provision.

I think an even better ban might be to remove the incompetent idiots who enter the medical practice and call themselves physicians or medical professionals - in this great industry that now centers itself around money, instead of actually caring for people. Interestingly funny how all of a sudden we are supposed to just surrender legally purchased and owned firearms all because of the actions of people who are mentally disturbed. Has anyone ever asked, maybe if the AMA was doing it's job in getting these types of people the appropriate treatment they need, there wouldn't be so much gun violence! It is a fact not an opinion that a large percentage of the mass shootings which have occurred were conducted by people who had outstanding mental health issues. It's also a fact that few to no one did anything about it. Particularly medical professionals!

Every gun owner knows these clowns are stupid, becasue they try to ban gun based on their looks, and what I perceive to be features that would give you a leg up if you were having to fight back... Most gun owners know, there is no difference from any gun that shoots a .223 (use ant caliber you want here) round, that is going to be any different or less lethal because it has a grip handle versus the old wooden stock guns used to have... The round size doesn't matter, my point is, there are guns that shoot the same kind of round, and becasue it is black or brown will not change how lethal it is, wither it is plastic or wooden, will not change the lethal outcome... but they are trying to ban guns based on these cosmetic features saying it make them more lethal...

Ban cars because people die in accidents, ban Twinkies, you may get fat, ban knives, forks and spoons because they obviously cause most health issues by allowing you to eat...get rid of bees because people die from bee stings....no bathtubs-you could slip on soap and fall and hit your head and die.....My doctor has not asked about personally asked about firearms, I like her a lot, but would decline to answer if they ask..years ago, my son said a teacher was asking kids if they had firearms at their house--he gave them an innocent look and said "I don't know", came home and did some target practice with his .22 rifle. Good boy! None of their *%$#& business.

Of the almost 1 million doctors practicing in the US less then 200,000 belong to the AMA and pay dues Many of the 200,000 are still medical students who most eventually opt out because they figure out fairly quickly the AMA is noting more then a propaganda machine for the democrats. The AMA is not a medical organization. It is a political one and again ANYTHING they put out is to viewed for what it is-the promotion of the democrat agenda and NOTHING more.

Actually less than 25% belong to it. Additionally this position was adopted by the elite 617 member AMA Board of Delegates. I hardly think they speak for the medical profession.
