But Donna Hanlin is demanding that the County Council pony up an additional $7.5 Million Dollars for their "universal PreK" program.

Watch out for John Cannon, he is working with Mike Dunn and Bill Chambers to make this happen.

And they always think more money will solve the issue.

No matter how much they spend on students, nothing will change until the teachers are forced to perform. Nothing screams teacher incompetency more than those scores. Teacher pay should be based on performance. But watch all the teacher unions fight that. The private sector can do a better job, for far less money. Boston should just close the public schools if that's the best they can do with taxpayer money.

Poor performance means firing the imbecils and no more money until performance and grades rise significantly.

You sound like an idiot. The teacher is responsible for everything. Doesn’t start at home right? I (me) am responsible for teaching my own child while I expect his teacher to build upon that foundation that we payed at HOME. Guess it’s the teachers fault the students have behavior problems too..sounds like you were a great teacher, lol!!

Duh..
Rading, writing, math, and science are not taught any longer.

Cultural pride. Self-esteem. Being "yourself".

Straight "A"'s on that.

Then they are graduated and enter the real world.
No one hires them. It's because they are black. Or Hispanic. Or gay.
It's NOT because they can't read or write and think that going to work with a pink mohawk and a nose ring is normal.
oh no.
Its racism and whatever else is the latest excuse for being stupid and ineligible for employment.
Reading and writing is so overrated.
Keep cheering.
