Thieves steal from program serving underprivileged kids in east Baltimore

BALTIMORE — An after-school program serving underprivileged kids in east Baltimore was hit by thieves Monday. Christmas gifts for more than 90 students are gone.

Kenny Orsot had just left The Club at Collington Monday morning before the robbers came in.

"The thieves busted through the back door in the kitchen around 10 a.m. Monday morning. They had masks on their face and they made their way through the building and into the room where the gifts were stored," Orsot said.

Orsot, a teacher in the after-school program, said that two men stole food, clothes, coats, toys and whatever else they could fit in their arms. When they ran into the director, they busted her lip and pushed her down.

"I'm just happy that she's OK. She's a little shaken up, but she's strong, and she's with us here today," Orsot said.

Breaking and entering? Robbing a church-affiliated organization of Christmas gifts for the needy? Assault on the lady that runs the program?
Is that all?
Do the police even answer the call for a situation like this in Baltimore (in the worst part of the city) anymore?
I'm pretty sure the attitude in that horrible town is just, "Well, they didn't kill her."

All thugs , of course we all know that the word thug is another word for the "N" word. Sorry , the truth will set you free.

I know, the story seemed so matter of fact, like that is normal in Bawlmer. I'm surprised the charity wasn't blamed for making it too enticing for the thieves!
