Mayor Day On New Bike Route Signage

With our new Bikeway signage to help you get where you're going, Salisbury is more bike-friendly than ever! I love how he took my idea on a bike path along the railroad tracks, as well as reversing the traffic direction through the Downtown Plaza. I'd like to say great minds think alike BUT its different when someone takes your idea, (without credit) and acts like it was their great idea. LOL

Yeah keep riding your bikes around smallsbury. If the cars don't get ya the robbers will. lol. People are stupid.

LMAO - making it more easy? Is that proper grammar? Reminds me of the meme of Obama playing the violin while the city around him crumbles.

Thugs now can ride uninterrupted.

Funny, my platform some 5 or 6 years ago stated we wanted to create a bike path along the R/R tracks from the University to Downtown Salisbury. We also stated we wanted to reverse the traffic pattern through the Downtown Plaza from east to west to west to east to east. We also stated we wanted to rebuild the Downtown water/sewer infrastructure. Glad to see Jake is following the right way to do things. As for the bike route signs and even the other bike routes, you and I both know it's a load of crap. They are simply trying to brainwash people into believing Salisbury is a bike friendly city so they can get less parking spaces for affordable housing units coming very soon to Downtown Salisbury. My R/R bike routs was to encourage young students to come Downtown BUT you have to keep in mind that the Downtown area had to be revitalized FIRST in order to attract people to go there. I also stated parking needed to be FREE. Day is putting the cart before the horse. Look at Headquarters Live. Now the Daily Times occupies that property and trust me, no one is coming Downtown to visit them. Another major lie/flop.

Day is such a moron so why care about him anymore? He’s mentally unhinged and lacks any common sense. You don’t give those kind of people attention. They feed off it.

Salisbury is >> TOO Bike Friendly

Putting Bike Lanes >> where they do NOT belong !!!!!

Thank you Joe for telling us it was your idea. It is important we are made aware of what is happening. I have heard of "bike stealing" (like Larry's daughter's bike), but only a low down dirty weasel would steal "bike path plans"

I'd really like to know the amount of money that has/will be spent by Maryland to put a sign about every 1/4 mile that says "bikes may use full lane"? I see them all the time when the wife and I ride around on the shore. Are drivers that stupid that they must be reminded that often or is it the bikers?

And how's that run go Joe? That's why you're a half whit blogger instead of a mayor

Joe, while on the pedestrian safety committee at SU (a mistake on my part fighting dealing with bureaucrats) I suggested the same a few years ago. I also encouraged safer sidewalks, etc. for SU and Bennett students along South Division. They listened, and sidewalks are still a work in progress and there's more to be done there, but Norfolk Southern never would grant us any right of way for a bike/walking path along the tracks.
It's funny, when someone mentioned that the students were crossing at the wrong place on Dogwood, I suggested moving the crosswalk or adding another. You would have thought I said there were aliens among us with the looks I got. "Nope, can't do that. too close to the other crosswalk- the state regulations don't allow that"
I said, "if you're going to put down an ant trap, put it where the ants cross". So, it wasn't about safety at all, but about making sure it was blessed by the state.
Not sure if the crosswalk ever got changed, but that is the type of thinking public bureaucrats have.

Bike Routes need to be OFF Road and Not on Busy Dangerous
locations.... It is Insane were they think they can put
them ....endangering the bikers and motor traffic...Fact !!

I have seen some of the Worst places, were there is clearly
No room for bikes in the roads , and now have painted lanes
there for them ... an Accident waiting to happen....and the
motorist should SUE the Govt if anything happens ........

A bike path ... In this city? Taking your your hands.

Until bikers pay for tags & insurance they should not have road rights!

What dumb ace thinks that riding a bike on business 13 through Salisbury is anything but a death wish?
Because they paint a line and say THIS is the "bike lane" makes it safe??
The only people using it are the ones hoping to get hit and ride a disability check to their grave.
It's pretty crazy just with the cars and the cell phone using drivers.
