Being seen for dry eyes is not the same as being evaluated for prescription lenses. You need to have a comprehensive evaluation. Why
was your prescription changed? Has the dry eves affected your vision. Eyes are too precious not to have things evaluated..
I have always had to have 2 exams, one for contacts and one for eyeglasses. Only 1 is covered per year through my vision insurance so I have to play leap frog every year.
That place is the worst! Terrible service, waits for hours. Took six weeks to get glasses they insisted I needed to buy from them, at more than double cost of anywhere else. Walked out after two and a half hours in the waiting room. Now go to Azar where doctors and service are awesome.

We have gone there for years and had the best people work with us. The only issue I've ever seen is that woman Deemail with her nasty attitude. Otherwise they are nice, quick and very helpful in explaining & answering questions.
I've gone to Sams club for eye exams. Technically contacts and glasses are two different exams, but they always do them at the same time.
It makes no sense why they would require a separate consultation that I can think of.
The only places I deal with are Azar Eye Institute for eye exams and Salisbury Optical for glasses. Have dealt with them for over 20 years and never had a problem.
Never been to Peninsula but Accurate Optical has horrible customer service. Every time I went there the people (other than the actual doctor & his assistants) were absolutely rude and condescending. I stopped going there because of it. Very disappointing.
Chesapeake Eye Center is great! Never had anything but fabulous efficient and timely service.

I had a comprehensive eye examine by both doctors. First gave me complimentary eye drops. Didn't help. Called for another appointment and first doctor bot available so I went to second which at the time I didn't know he was an optometrist.
He gave me a prescription for
eye drops which cost me $81.00 for 0.2 mg. And I have vision insurance. Finally I received a contact prescription that worked. No more dry eyes. Love them and so grateful to my Optometrist. The problem the staff gave me a copy my contact prescription which I treat like gold. However his staff said. I would have to go back to the first doctor for a corrected prescription because my prescription was changed which I pointed out.
To the point. I have always gone to an optometrist for eye examine and a contact/eye glass prescription. The staff (the accountant) said I had to go back to the first doctor and pay for the examine or wait until my next appointment.
I choose to wait. I have never heard that an Optometrist cannot prescribe a prescription for glasses.
Yes your eyes are very important especially if you are coming a diabetic. Thanks for your kind response.
On the other side of the bridge I got both at the same time. My insurance covers either partial costs of contacts or a partial costs of eye glasses. It is your choice. I guess things are different on the Eastern Shore
I agree. I waited 2hrs with an appointment. Staff very rude that is why I questioned them when I was told I had to buy from them. My response"I do not". The doctors are great - big problem with staff. My husband goes to Azar. They are exceptional.
Yes it is the nasty staff what do you think is the problem? I have problems with Debbie. I treat them with kindness and they don't know how to act. Works every time.
Not to impressed. When I said I wasn't buying my contacts there every thing stopped. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy. I was told you have too. Said no way too expensive. I believe the looks were due to no one has ever said no. I stood up to them. Never went back. Costco is great for contacts.
Not true. Dr. Darcy at Peninsula Eye Center sees the patients that wear contacts. He always orders my contacts for me and gives me a prescription for glasses if I want to get that filled. One exam, one doctor. And no, I don't work there. LOL
I have gone to Azar's the last couple of times. I get my prescription and go online and order glasses. I save over
$500.00 from Accurate's price.

That was my point from the beginning. One doctor can do eye examine for glasses and contacts but Dr Darcy according to his staff won't give me an eye glasses appointment. I have been working on this since last Feb 2017.
I think Dr Darcy is a great doctor ..he corrected my dry eyes.
Tried to contact peninsula for eye exam apparently during lunch or non business and never received response
