SALISBURY - Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver kicked off the "Feeding Our Neighbors" challenge among County government employees Friday with a goal to collect much needed funds for Meals on Wheels.
Older persons need proper nutrition to maintain good health. The home delivered meal program, better known as Meals on Wheels, provides a life giving service to the homebound elderly who are confined to bed, lack transportation or are too frail to cook for themselves. While delivering meals, the driver serves as a link to other community services and resources. The regular visits also provide reassurance and alleviate some of the anxieties of those elderly persons who live alone.
The cost of one home-delivered meal is $6.90. On the busiest day, a minimum of 475 meals leave the MAC kitchen. Meals are delivered to seniors Monday through Thursdays. Last year, MAC provided 73,000 meals.
For more information, to donate or volunteer to assist in deliveries please contact MAC, Inc. located at 909 Progress Circle, Salisbury, Maryland 21804 or by telephone at 410-742-0505.

Great program.
That's Wonderful !!!
Thanks for thinking of others
Mr. Culver, especially the
elderly .
I think that better control of meal deliveries need to be implemented. Some recepients are not home bound, have trasportation and when they get the food, they feed it to their pets. Fact.
