City of Denver Won't Allow Single Mom to Sell Her Home for What It's Worth

Many people view their homes as an investment. They buy it and then hope it'll appreciate in value so they can sell it later for a nice little profit. Even if that's not their hope, everyone wants to get the most out of their home that they can when it's time to sell. The great thing about this country is that you can do just that.

Unless, that is, you live in the wrong neighborhood in Denver:

Home sweet home is now bittersweet home for Cynthia Lopez.

The 35-year old single mom bought her Green Valley Ranch home in 2012 for $150,000.

"While this is a great home and I appreciate it, I had something better for my daughter and the city shut those dreams down," Lopez said.

Just a few months ago, Lopez had a contract in place to sell her 1,200-square-foot home for $265,000 so she and her daughter could move to a bigger house nearby.

"I wanted to give the best for my daughter and she still asks me, 'When are we moving to the bigger house?' It's hard to make a 2-year-old understand that we have to stay here."

And this is how you are a salve to the govt, and the taxes in which they create and then raise... You have, you must pay taxes on high value items but no you can't sell those items for what you or some inspector value it as, but what we tell you it is valued as...

And this just shows you, how easily, and with no ramifications or help to stop it or fight it can be when dealing with the govt... Let all of this be a lesson to you clowns who think other wise, especially the ones who say people don't and won't need help in matters like this... You all always think it is some Joe Shmo who wants to use or abuse or suck of the systems tit, but that can't be further form the truth...

Also let this be a lesson to those who think you are not a slave to the taxes and system in regards to a water or sewer bill... Where as they use your tax money to put in utilities such as water and sewer and then make laws that said you have to connect to them if they are put in your area of dwelling, then at the same time, you are now locked into a monthly bill and on to of that, have to pay the connection fee... Then if you get behind or delinquent on the bill, they can turn it off, condemn your house and take if from you and sell it... So where does that leave the home owner? No where if they still have a mortgage on the house, they will still have to pay that and not live there...

But all of you clowns think most people want free shit and suck off the tit of the system... I get most people do want free shit, but what about the legit people who need help who were wronged by the govt??? Eventually the problem will get big enough and will affect you to, maybe just not yet, but it will...

Just try to develop commercial property you own in Maryland it,s the same BS the government entities here try to stop you anyway they can unless you donate to Democrats then your OK.

Read somewhere that HUD is looking for a community in Salisbury to include affordable housing. Affordable housing differs from Section 8. Affordable housing is suppose help low income families i.e. some people working at Purdue and wait staff etc. Affordable housing can do a number on your investment.
