Main St Gym’s Hines wins Maryland Championship belt

Three Maryland State Amateur Championship belts were up for grabs Saturday night in the Welterweight, Heavyweight and Jr Middleweight divisions. Main St. boxer Markeese Hines put on a dominant performance, out scoring and landing the harder punches for three rounds against a very game Clayton Fraser, of Hagerstown. In the end, Hines won a unanimous decision and was presented the Championship belt in front of a packed house at Michaels 8th Avenue in Glen Burnie Maryland. “Markeese is a very determined young man that works extremely hard in the gym and continues to step up every time he gets in the ring. He wanted this belt badly and really made us proud in the way he represented Main St Gym and Salisbury. I am quite sure this is the first of others to come” said Main St Gym Coach Hal Chernoff. “
