Juveniles Charged With Shooting At Street Lights, Abandoned Home, Vehicles, Animals In Berlin

BERLIN — Two juveniles are facing reckless endangerment and malicious destruction of property charges this week after being identified as the suspects in a series of air gun shootings at street lights, an abandoned residence, animals and possibly moving vehicles.

On Thursday, the Berlin Police Department initiated an investigation into several street lights that had been damaged by BBs on Maple Avenue. When electric company employees went to repair the damaged street lamps, numerous BBs were located in the housing of the lighting fixtures.

In addition, one residence in the area had suffered damage due to being shot numerous times with air guns, according to police. In addition to the property damage, the investigation revealed numerous wild and domestic animals had been shot in the same area. The investigation led police to a residence where two juvenile suspects were identified. During the investigation, five air rifles and one firearm classified as a long gun were seized.

They don't need to worry all they will get is probation and community service which they won't bother to do and then the judge will let them off.

Not a ONE of them will get a good sound spanking, as that can now put the Parents in jail. Then, they will continue their bad behavior in the school system because there is no punishment for a juvie.

Parents will then be blamed for improper upbringing.

I think most of us got up to a little mischief one time or another as minors. Have the kids apologize and let them get on with their lives.

Most of our youthful crimes and misdemeanors were conducted harmlessly without the use of weapons. We grew up in homes with respect for guns and they seldom came off the wall short of hunting or killing rabid varmints. It's acts like this that feed the liberal gun mania. Guns are simple tools in ones home like drills or knives or toilet plungers. It's this new found casual respect for them as some equalizing factor in the war on everything that threatens our rights.

They are lucky they got caught because those guns look real and if they were walking around the street at night with them they would probably have eventually been shot by someone else.
