Man found dead in wooded area near Lewes
A 55-year-old man was found dead Aug. 20 in a wooded area near Lewes.
A post on Facebook said that Dax R. Norman left a Lewes home at 7 a.m., Aug. 18, wearing khaki cargo pants and a light denim shirt. He never returned. His daughter confirmed Aug. 21 that her father’s body had been found in a wooded area near New Road and Samantha Drive Aug. 20.
The daughter said her father moved to the area three months ago from Maryland, but she declined further comment.
In a statement, Lewes Police Chief Tom Spell said his officers initiated a missing person investigation Aug. 18.
