Trump considers Rudy Giuliani for attorney general: Report

President Trump is reportedly considering the idea of nominating Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York City and an ardent Trump defender, to serve as attorney general.

Axios reported Monday Trump is exploring the possibility of tapping Giuliani, and the news comes days after the president has publicly expressed frustration with the current attorney general, Jeff Sessions.

In a wide-ranging interview with the New York Times last week, Trump said he was angry with Sessions for recusing himself from the investigation into ties between Trump campaign officials from Russia.

The president said he never would've tapped Sessions for attorney general had he known the former senator would recuse himself from the probe.

"Sessions should have never recued himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job, and I would have picked somebody else," Trump told the New York Times in an interview.

Considering a gun-control advocate for AG in a republican administration is really out there!

I'm starting to question if the President is just planning to eat these people up and spit them out and then call in some real folks to do the job his way!

Should have tapped Giuliani to start with. During the campaign, he was already a supporter of charging Hillary with crimes she may have committed. I'm sure she was relieved when Trump selected a fellow Senator for the job. Senators are like cops, they protect their own before anyone else. Sessions will never investigate a fellow Senator, Democrat or Republican. Giuliani will go after her if that's what Trump wants. I'm sure Hillary is sweating bullets with all this talk of ousting Sessions. She thought she was home free with Sessions. She had come back in the public spotlight, she was so confidant her illegal activities from her stint as SOS were behind her. Notice how she is again laying low and not drawing attention to herself? She is desperately trying to keep her name from coming up during this spat between Trump and Sessions. I bet she has nightmares of Trump's campaign rallies where the roaring chant of his supporters was "lock her up, lock her up."

Sessions although a "good guy" and has the prerequisite skills and knowledge to be Attorney General has shown a weak nature since his tenure began. The Attorney General show be decisive and thorough in being the chief law inforcement officer in our country. You cannot pick and choose what agendas that need your attention. The attorney general needs to be involved in ALL investigations concerning violations of laws. If he cannot fulfill ALL his duties then find someone with the guts and balls to not be afraid to do his job. Trump has every right to fire this guy.

Gotta agree with USMCRetired. I had great hopes for Sessions when he was nominated but now he is looking like just another spineless DC swamp creature.

Sessions has not left the building. Trump is tweaking him so he will do what he needs to do

Citing more unnamed sources? NYT is most unreliable trash and here it is trying to start fires again. Russian story going sour? Look over here, here's another bone to chew on. People get a grip!

It will not be Rudy. It will be the assistant to the assistant. A woman, who sounds like a real trump supporter. Her name I've forgotten. She can create alot of problems for the Dems, and Clintons, since she won' recuse herself.

Rudy is an excellent Zionist choice for AG.
He will always do what is in Israel's best interest, and the American People love Isarel.
So Mr. Trump cannot go wrong with this choice.
