NO they should not be prosecuted for upholding their beliefs. Go somewhere else if you know that a business doesn't want your business, whatever the reason. Why would you want to give your money to someone who doesn't want to do business with you????? When I get poor customer service, I punish the business by not going back and giving them more money, not by suing the business. Wouldn't everyone be outraged if a business was forced to make a cake that said "i hate ______________ people" (insert any racial slur here)??? Do business with people that want your business. Go to social media and express your outrage if they don't comply with your requests, but we are on a slippery slope when we start to persecute/prosecute every business that doesn't agree with us. Currently, everyone feels that their own thoughts/feelings are above anyone else's. Who is the winner when we are all so self-important? We should all be tolerant of our differences in beliefs and opinions, but we don't have to agree. We certainly don't have to compromise our own beliefs to appease someone else.

I definitely do not believe the baker should be prosecuted. Are they going to next prosecute a Muslim who refuses to handle pork? I don't see any gays going to mosques to get married. I wonder why that is? This was just a publicity stunt and "I'm gay and I'm going to MAKE you accept it ploy" anyway. Who cares if a particular baker doesn't want to bake a cake for a gay wedding when he is deeply religious. Go somewhere else and have someone else bake the cake.

If I own the business I should be able to sell to who I want, same as selling my property, if I don't want to sell to some minority, I should be able to refuse!

Personally, in running a business, I will take money from anyone who wants to give it to me. If the green lesbian inhabitants of Uranus want to give me money, I'll gladly take it. That being said, if someone doesn't want to bake me a cake, then it's probably not in my best interest to eat a cake the government is forcing them to make for me. It may not be a good business model to deny a cake to someone, but it sure isn't illegal!
