Dumpster Diving For Beauty Products: Is It Legal And Safe?

Sure, it’s always nice to get a great deal on beauty products, and what’s a better deal than 100% off? “Dumpster Diving” — the art of sourcing still-usable items from the trash — is nothing new, but there are growing reports from beauty bloggers and YouTubers claiming to score free lipsticks, nail polishes, eye shadows, and other items by sorting through the items that Ulta, Sephora, and others throw out. Is this legal, and if so, is it safe?

While you might not think twice about salvaging a bookshelf or rocking chair from the curb, you might raise an eyebrow at the idea of using a bottle of foundation or palate of blush plucked from the trash.

Yet that’s exactly what some beauty lovers are doing after seeing videos of makeup “experts” dumpster diving behind beauty retailers:

Bryan Records has been Dumpster Diving for many years. His favorite Dumpsters are at Salisbury University and Walmart. He calls Dumpster Diving at Salisbury University, Christmas in May!

Although he calls shoppers of Walmart Trailer Trash he dives right into Walmart's dumpsters which is.... TRASH!

If the President of Salisbury University was smart she would have the SUPD issue him a Tresspass warning and if he is caught on campus he should be arrested.

6:18 AM - sounds like you have something against Records, not his hobby.

Keeps useful items from making it to the landfill!

That was a pretty weird rant by 6:18. We can easily assume that it was from a Salisbury fireman. But why so nasty?

Cuz someone else benefitted and they didn't. Sour grapes I suppose!

One man's trash is another man's treasure!

I guess it makes you feel good when you talk about other people...but don't include your name. Get a life and stop trashing others.

Mr Records gives a lot of what he collects to others that are in need. I am one that was given an item that I needed but could not afford at the time. He has also given items to children at the salvation army that played sports. Instead of playing in their tennis shoes, they were given the proper shoes/cleats. So, before you know everything, please stop the bashing.

Mr Records shops at Walmart all of the time. He surely doesn't think he is any better then anyone. I shop there a few times a week, and I will say that there are definitely some weird ones lurking around.

What a material of un-ambiguity and preserveness of precious knowledge
regarding unexpected emotions.
