Chicken May Get More Expensive Because Birds Are Too Old And Fat To Breed
Years of very precise breeding means that modern poultry grow to massive sizes very quickly — sometimes in a matter of weeks. While this results in more meat in less time, it’s also causing a problem: Some birds are so top-heavy that they may not be all that interested in breeding, and there’s now an older breeding population of roosters and hens that are less likely to produce viable eggs.

Balderdash. Chickens raised for the plate are not the same as chickens raised to create chickens for your plate. They eating birds are 2, 3, or 4 way crosses that create hybrid vigor and thus faster growing birds. Add on to that the fact that breeders are kept on a very strict diet and artificial insemination and this article is little more than fear mongering.
Sounds like a lot of the women here on the shore!
The poor girl that wrote that article doesn't have a clue what she is talking about. It is obvious that she knows nothing about the industry, or the growing / breeding practices.
