BREAKING: Ed Baker To Retire AGAIN, Bob Taylor Is His Replacement

Ed Baker
Bob Taylor

While former County Executive Rick Pollitt made a SWEET deal for Ed Baker to get massive benefits to become the attorney for Wicomico County, he came back after retiring and just put in his resignation so he can move out of the County and relocate to Delaware.

I just learned that Bob Taylor will be the replacement attorney for the Wicomico County Council. Probably the best move the Council could ever make, (considering the circumstances) when it comes to someone who is truly on the ball.

I'm sure Ed Baker would love to THANK the County Taxpayers for an incredible retirement package. Perhaps he'll build an "EXECUTIVE" suite on his new home for you know who.

I know so many ex-Maryland/County employees, who work for years and get pay and benefits from our county and state, and then move to tax-advantaged Delaware to retire.
When is Maryland going to figure it out that lowering tax on retirement income is good for the state?
I'd love to see a tracking report on how much pension money leaves Maryland for another state. Often times, Maryland pays out more and longer to retired workers than they do while the employee was working.

I was just thinking of Mr. Taylor a few days ago. I was wondering where he was hold up. He use to go to city council meetings to speak on different things. I don't know him personally, but always enjoyed how he would take to the podium.
Congrats Mr. Taylor, good luck!

Way to go Ed1!! You did as good a job as any before you....contracted or other wise!!! Hopefully Mr. Taylor can get Culver and the County Council straight....probably not enough alcohol in Wicomico County for that task. OH WAIT probably plenty at Station 1 Airport Command!! Ha Ha Ha

Why are SBYNnews postings filled with such unkindness. If you have facts, say them and stop with innuendos. It is sad how often a viewer has to wade through all the trash for a couple sentences pertaining to a retirement.

Your value would be better spent paying your taxes timely. Take a lesson from Culver and your name would not appear on delinquent Wicomico tax listing in newspaper. Just a thought to bring back the great businessman you claim you once were.

Baker worked for years as a private attorney and sold his services to the county, and others. No problem.

But then he and Pollitt conspired to provide him a county paid pension as if he had been a county employee all the years. It was wrong. I had little positive regard for Pollitt prior to the maneuver, and Baker joined him on my sleazy character list.

Good riddance!
