Ah, Larry Dodd screwed the pooch. He made a deal with the devil so he could sit next to him & have Matt Holloway moved to the end zone. Can't understand why the other council members couldn't figure this one out. John Hall would have made a great President with no hidden agenda. We are screwed again.

You are wrong on all levels. The plan was to have John Hall as President and Larry Dodd as Vice President. Cannon got enough council members to flip their vote. Not sure why they flip flopped, but they did.

7:27 AM I agree with you 100%. I voted of Councilman Larry Dodd and so did my entire family. He is an awesome person and doing an awesome job. If he decides to run again I have a feeling he will get re-elected. We need people like him on the council. As a matter of fact I have confidence that Mr. Dodd would be a better President than Mr. Cannon. I can't understand what they are thinking.

I'm not sure what happened because the original vote was supposed to be Hall pres. and Dodd V.P. Looks like Cannon worked something behind the scenes to get four of them to flip.
All Cannon wants is to use this spotlight to set him up for a run at bigger things. Hope he isn't thinking State Delegate because he got spanked last time.

Obviously the same commenter holding a grudge. If you have something nasty to say about someone at least have the balls to let everyone know who you are. Keyboard Koward you are!
It's funny people saying that council members flip-flopped. Who says that Hall had the votes? That's a rumor that certainly hasn't been confirmed. If people want to know, why not ask one of the council members? Has anyone done that? Or do people just like sitting around, dreaming up conspiracy theories?
I give the county council the credit for working out their differences before the voted in public. Unlike the city council who always argues and fights over their president and vice president. Good job gentlemen.

What makes you think they didn't ask a council member!! DUH!! What a silly comment!! As a matter of fact I talked to several of the members.
Mark Kilmer has been a HUGE disappointment. I'll be challenging him next election.
718 is correct. The council and County Executive better start looking a lot more closely at county Depts. There are still tons of waste and Supervisors giving employees time off when they know that dreaded drug test is coming. Supervisors don't care if employees drink and drive county vehicles on county time - THEY DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO PROTECT THEM. FACT
Hey Joe, it's not fun being a county employee when your supervisors have meeting after meeting about what's on this blog. We have been told numerous times to not get caught screwing up and to watch our backs. I do my job the best I can. I don't drink or do drugs like a lot of my coworkers do but I'm thrown in the same bag as them. Wouldn't you think they (supervisors) would encourage more drug testing to eliminate problem employees instead of tipping them off when testing is about to happen. If that were to happen maybe most of our problems would go away and our bosses could also get some work done instead of watching this blog all day.
WORD JUST IN - Martians and the Russians have hacked the Wicomico County Human Resources Dept.,and are deciding which employees can piss clean. Wow, those Russians are amazing. We always knew the martians were sneaky but we didn't know the Russians were concerned about rec and parks in this county
Government employees hate people who tell the truth and blow the whistle on their lying, self centered azz's.

I think the reason that most of the county workforce is dysfunctional is the fact that there is virtually no leadership. Instead of holding employees accountable, we coddle them, hold their hands, and make sure nobody's feelings are hurt. This isn't just true with county employees, it's true everywhere. Maybe Trump can change some of this but it will take time. But in the meantime, I think I'll just go back to the civic center and collect my check every other Wednesday.
It sure sounds like Wicomico County has a lot of dissatisfied employees. It's really hard to say if these people should look for work elsewhere or hope sooner or later there will be changes in Mgt. that will bring positive change. When Mackes was let go it seamed as though lots of employees thought that the change would be good and a new voice would change morale, but from what I'm hearing it's status quo. Wicomico County has a lot to offer but needs good supervisors and sober employees to maintain it.
I think Culver is well situated in his office and doesn't know nor care what is going on with county employees. He enjoys cashing that check every 2 weeks. However, everyone (through this blog) has had a heads up about county employees being under the influence while working. When the inevitable accident happens, insurance will go through the roof for the county and many of us will say 'told u so'.
I don't know who is in charge of civic center employees (Culver or County Council) but I have to wonder why there are more supervisors than workers. You have SM as boss, PO as boss, AK as boss, and BW as program director. Now my question is, WHO THE HELL ARE THE WORKERS. Everyone is a supervisor. How much money does this county have?
By the time Marvin's lawyers get through with Wicomico County nobody will be worried about the county council
