Michelle Obama did not learn hope and humility as first lady

Michelle Obama shows her time as first lady has taught her neither

Former Republican Sen. Alan Simpson of Wyoming once said, “Those who travel the high road of humility will not be troubled by heavy traffic.”

That descriptive and funny line came to mind after I heard what first lady Michelle Obama told Oprah Winfrey last week in a TV interview. Because of Donald Trump’s election, she told the former talk show host, “We are feeling what not having hope feels like.”

She couldn’t prove that by the polls. A recent Quinnipiac University poll found that 59 percent of voters are “optimistic about the next four years with Donald Trump as president.” Sixty-six percent of respondents said they believed he would create jobs, 52 percent said they believe Mr. Trump’s policies will help the economy, 53 percent expressed confidence he will take the country in the right direction, and 49 percent think Mr. Trump will be either a “great” president or a “good” president.

Michelle Obama’s hubris that only her husband could provide hope, despite the unpopularity of his policies (his personal popularity remains high), may be why St. Paul cautioned: “Do not think more highly of yourself than you ought.” (Romans 12:3). Pride is the first sin, which leads to all others.

Sasquatch didn't have enough potential to begin with!

Lack of potential usually leads to lack of growth!

Further proof that she and her husband aren't really Christian. Maybe they think they are, maybe not, but "you shall know they are Christian by their fruits." The only fruit I see from either one of them is sour grapes.

Shortly after the first election she made a statement that she was FINALLY proud of America. No pride until HER husband was elected. That was the first sign of trouble.

This is the same woman that wasn't proud to be an American until her husband was elected president. She is as anti-American as her husband is. Worst first lady EVER.

Dave T: With a crew of over 10 caretakers at her beckoned call ever day, and she still looks as miserable as the first day her idiot husband took office. Looks like money really can't buy happiness or even a pretty smile. You truly are hopeless Michelle, looks like you will have to remain miserable for the rest of your miserable life. I know having to wake up and listen your stupid ideas and ideology certainly made me miserable for eight long years. Now, you are as much a part of history as Lincoln himself, only your history will reflect nothing but failure !

2:56 I just getting ready to say the same thing. You have to be a lady first in order to get the title.

The hardest working... sounds like a compliment to me.

And judging by these comments on here, you need no more than a kindergarten education to have a say. None of these comments exemplify class, but you are qualified to trash her? Smh.

Her 'I'm finally proud' comment before she moved into the People's House will continues to dog her. She just picked the scab again.

I get that she's lost hope. She's got to downsize in the middle of winter, loses her servants, will be living with a guy she said had stinky feet, and will have one twerking, weed trying HS grad daughter on the loose in DC. No more globe trotting on the public dime. Sounds kind of grim to me, too.

Cue the crocodile tears!
