BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ)– A new push from council member, Jim Kraft, could put a citywide ban on replica guns, taking them out of the hands of children and teens.
This comes just days after a teen with a fake gun was shot and killed by police in Ohio, and just months after Baltimore City police shot a 13-year-old with a similar replica gun.
It’s a growing problem across the country and now Baltimore is looking to crack down.
In the heat of the moment, replica guns force officers to make split second decisions. Potential life or death scenarios becoming all too common nationwide.

Fake guns and real guns have little to do with any of these problems. Its idiots making foolish decisions. Its uninfomred idiots that think they dont have to listen. Its a certain section of our population that will never assimilate into civilized society. Not as long as they keep getting free money to do NOTHING!!!
You can 'ban' replica guns but just like real guns it isn't going to make them go away.
12:55 is right. It isn't the gun, it's the 13-year-old kid who was STUPID enough to carry it in his waistband and pull it on a cop!!
What was the cop supposed to do? Wait till he pulled the trigger to see what comes out of it?
There is no defense of this kid, and there is absolutely no point trying to ban toy guns.
I understand what they're trying to do here, but it's not going to go anywhere
2:21 PM they are doing this to demonize all guns and people who have them... They have to do it one step at a time becasue if they didn't even the stupidest of stupid in this country could see what they were doing... You even have Eric holder say they need to be brain washed into thinking guns are bad in every form in every way, and that you have to keep on saying it is bad and evil for people to not want guns... In fact this has done the opposite in some forms, making Obama the gun salesman of the year...
But like hitler, he even went after the kids and said you have to start with the kids lol
What did Andy and Barney do when Opey played with his toy pistol?
Nothing.
Because cops don't shoot kids.
That cop who shot dead the man in Wal-Mart's toy gun department while the guy was checking out the different toys there; No way anyone but the cop could be blamed there. But, I'm sure he's still working the beat today!
I was going to pick up a holster and gun for my 5 year old.
We were going to play cowboys and Indians.
So much for that plan.
Watch the movie "Snatch" with Jason Stathem
Thugs-in-training = Darwin award nomination. It is that simple.
And we played cops & robbers, cowboys & Indians, and soldiers as kids but under entirely different circumstances.
Can't outlaw any guns, second amendment. We have the right to keep and bear arms all the time under any circumstances. If you wish to brandish and point, well, either you are firing a bullet, or you are asking to die.
It's pretty simple.
And I learned that at 9 years old from Grandpa and Uncles Bill and Henry.
And, I'm not dead yet! Amazing, isn't it?
