IMHO, the BOR is very simple in its complete form, and "shortening" it may scare off those kids who want to read the rest.
It's a VERY short document, and showing it in its entirety would make it a good read first time around and entice new readers to read the Constitution, which is another easy, short read.
These are very short books, not 2,700 pages, but about 22.
The Fathers had it right!
