I Call B.S.

WBOC is once again pushing the Liberal agenda through the City Council CLAIMING the City has received NUMEROUS letters by residents who are against chicken houses. They allegedly claim it will effect their way of life.

OK Jack Heath and WBOC, PROVE IT. How sad a day is it when your local Media doesn't ask, may we see those letters?

I remember this happening every time there was an upcoming election. Some City Council Members would make CLAIMS they had lots of people writing to them through e-mail but they never did produce those alleged letters.

Salisbury residents, (multiple) never contacted the City Council about chicken houses, it's a LIE. Shame on WBOC for not even doing a background check on this. Then again, all they want to do is push an agenda. Much like Executive Culver cutting off the Daily Times, WBOC will say and do anything these politicians want because they need the business.

To confirm this story, I contacted multiple elected officials on this matter and not one of them could produce a single letter, let alone multiple letters. How can you people trust your local media any more. I guess you enjoy being fed one sided BS stories every day.

This is pathetic and Jack Heath is a lie because this doesn't even affect anyone living in the City of Salisbury. Jack Heath you need to produce those letters or emails or we will hang this over your head forever.

Letters should be easy to produce. He is just running his mouth again.

I knew you idiots should have voted for Tim Spies!

Jack Heath as the city council president you should be more concerned about why we are paying the paid firemen to sleep every single night while they work their gravy 24 hours on and 72 hours off shift. Not bad working 9 days a month and getting paid to sleep while on those shifts. We pay those people to much. I have an idea after midnight they don't get paid unless they get a call.

The people of Salisbury have a right to question the need for mega chicken houses to be built on land above the Paleo Channel. Our water supply could be at risk. I haven't sent a letter to the city but I'm saying here and now that anyone from another state willing to foul our water supply with these houses needs to be stopped. Our water supply is more important than their desire to keep these chicken house subdivisions out of their own backyard and into ours.

Jack Heath...a bag of wind, has been since he was director of Lower Shore Enterprise. A clone of Donald Hackett from Dove Point? Or is Hackett a clone of Heath? At least Hackett doesn't live in Salisbury or Wicomico County as far as I know

The city has chicken houses? Maybe that's why their sewage plant stinks.

Bill Martin, thanks for your comment and using you name.

Let me educate you, (and others) just a little bit, with all due respect.

Do ALL of you people realize the entire north end of retail shopping on Rt. 13 is over the Paleo Channel?

That's right, NONE of you were so concerned when they took the retention pond at the Mall and downsized the heck out of it, absorbing all of the oil and gas runoff from the parking lots into that pond, which is directly over the Paleo Channel.

This is a hack job for LIBERALS to go after Bob Culver.

Here's the other funny part. Culver has NOTHING to do with ANY of it. This is legislated through the STATE. It is a state issue, NOT COUNTY.

Don't believe me, call his office and you will get an education like you've never heard before.

FUNNY how your local Main Stream Media, (liars) haven't told you that though. Why, because they want to run a REPUBLICAN out of office.

Sorry but many of you are not educated, especially the tree hugging Liberals who are absolutely clueless. Don't forget all the parking lots and runoff on the north end of Salisbury. You haven't complained about that, so I have NO respect for your new chicken house opinions, especially ANY resident in Salisbury.

I'll add, Bill, what do you know about your own Waste Water Treatment Plant?????

Do you know it still does not work?

Do you know that the solids that are supposed to be coming out of that facility, (even after all these years and millions of dollars) are still LIQUID form. Did you know it is being removed as sludge?

You have NO PROBLEM having nasty waste out of your City to be removed to the County. Talk about a group of hypocrites! As long as the CITY IS PAYING to get rid of it, that makes it OK, right?

How dare anyone challenge Barrie Tilghman, Jim Ireton and now Jake Day, right? Did you happen to notice how they are ALL Liberals! But they're so concerned about the environment, more BS!

Bill Martin it's funny that you don't complain when all of you real estate customers flush their toilets over the Paleo Channel. That's right all those houses and commercial property you sell to your unsuspecting customers. You are a Slum Lord and a POS realter. Every time your customers flush their toilets their poop and pee flow into the paleo channel and our drinking water.

All of your slum properties in the city limits flush their poop and pee into the city septic system which overflows into the Wicomico River, The Paleo Channel, other underground streams and yes the Chesapeake Bay!

You have no room to talk you POS SLUM LORD!!

Ladies and Gentlemen let's connect the Dots.

Jack Heath has received all these letters(supposedly) so let's think about this. One connect he has is Gabby Marie Cammarata is the mouth piece for the Facebook Page Concerned Citizens Against Industrial CAFOs. This Mouth Piece is from Pennsylvania and she only went to Salisbury University to get a degree in Environmental Studies. Imagine that! So she gets connected with Kathy Phillips, the Butch from Assateague Coastkeepers and they start knocking on doors with scare tactics. Gabby Cammarata, a Come Here, doesn't care about the chickens, she just doesn't want the chicken houses built near her so she takes those scare tactics and runs with it.

No more Dots to connect. Gabby Cammarata and her fiance Landon Ross live together near where those chicken houses are planned. So what does that matter you ask?

Well Gabby's fiance Landon Ross is working behind the scenes with Gabby Cammarata to help put Perdue out of business. Yes Perdue Farms, the same business that Jake Day and his Daddy are employed. So if Perdue Farms fail then Mayor Jake Day and Daddy lose their livelihood.

So who is Landon Ross who has been working behind the scenes? Landon Ross works for Mayor Jake Day as a paid fireman and the Salisbury Fire Department. Nothing like biting the hand that feeds you.

Landon Ross has been quiet because he has been secretly helping his fiance Gabby Marie put Mayor Jake Day and Daddy out of a job.

Aren't we getting sick and tired of the problem children at the Salisbury Fire Department yet!

Mayor Jake Day if you were smart you would take care of that problem at the Salisbury Fire Department!

JoeAlbero said...

To continue my rant, HOW ABOUT THE SALISBURY ZOO!

Here you have animals urinating and pooping thousands of times a DAY, many of them directly into the River.

Then you have the staff putting 200 lbs of duck chow into feeders on the River. It's no wonder the Canada Geese never head out for the winter. Then it's rumored the City wants to kill off the Geese because they are so over populated in this area.

So why do they do this, because that waterfowl is FREE. It makes it look like they have hundreds more animals in the River area.

Nevertheless, why aren't these Liberals screaming about how the Zoo has been polluting the River for 55+ years straight? And where does that polluted water go, into the Wicomico River and ultimately the Chesapeake Bay.

You people have absolutely NO ROOM to bitch about these chicken houses. Every one of you are all about do as I say, not as I do.

First, let me say that I have no trouble expressing my opinion and signing my name to it. Second, I have to inform 3:28 that I am not the realtor Bill Martin. I'm well aware of my ignorance of the ins and outs of this subject. I have no agenda against Bob Culver and do not speak in support of anyone who does. I am aware of the North end development over the channel and that the sewage treatment plant is a disaster. And most of all, I am sorrowfully aware of how the city has handled the problem and many others. Be that as it may, I do feel that deciding to build mega chicken houses in an area upstream from where the city draws it's water source is a huge mistake. Again I have no reason to attack Bob Culver. He has a difficult job that should be taken seriously and supported by all residents of the county. For some reason, liberal has become a dirty word for those who read and contribute to your blog. That's ok, we can't all agree on everything but conservatives deserve clean water too. Thanks for your time and don't blame the realtor. I was here first!

JoeAlbero said...

Bill, Let's remember that Bob Culver has no say in it. The yea and nays come from Annapolis. The people of the Shore need to bring their case to Annapolis. Bob brought all of them in for the last public meeting and yet the local press still continues to point their fingers at Culver, as well as the people opposing the chicken houses.

I found an easy solution to all of the above problems plaguing Salisbury. I moved. No chicken houses along the intracoastal in S. FL.

About the Salisbury Zoo, I have been complaining about that zoo for years but anything and everything about the zoo falls on deaf ears. Animal poop going into the river all the time, but no one cares. I'm not against a zoo in the right place, but it certainly doesn't need to be in the middle of Salisbury polluting the river all the time. Furthermore, there is not enough room for any of the animals in that zoo. I know this is falling on deaf ears again, but city council you need to work on obtaining land way out in the county somewhere if you really want to have a zoo worth going to.

Joe this right here should be a comment worthy of a post! Everyone should see this to see how the Salisbury Fire Department is connected to this sneaky activity.

I agree about the Salisbury Zoo doing more polluting than any chicken house ever will. These animal poop and pee directly in the Wicomico River and at least the chicken manure when it is spread is absorbed by plants and filtered naturally through the soil. That Zoo needs to be relocated and needs to be done yesterday.

If Kathy Phillips, Maria Payan, Lisa Inzerello, Gabby Marie and Margaret Barnes really want to complain they need to complain to the City about that nasty zoo. The bottom line is they just don't want a chicken house in their neighborhood. Guess what you Skanks, you moved right in an area that is zoned Ag. and it is legally permitted.

After the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) approved the waste water treatment plant design, then refused to stand behind their approval, threatening and fining the city for the system when it was found that it was a miserable failure, the opinion of MDE has to be closely evaluated.
The city spent about $85 million for the failed plant, and replacement is estimated at $65 million more. The lawsuits got about $14 million back, 40% of which went to the main lawyer and a big chunk to Paul Wilber, the city attorney. All because Barrie Tilghman, her public works director, John Jacobs and her Dream Team council (Mike Dunn, Lynn Cathcart, Gary Comegys and Shanie Shields) listened to and believed the MDE.
Did we learn a lesson? I hope so.

If Jack Heath is listening to that filthy little tub of lard that goes to the Council Meetings and creates a scene on Television then he is just as ignorant as she is. That fat putrid thing comes from Pennsylvania and is a paid community organizer, a paid agitator for the anti-chicken farm industry period. That hate chicken farmers and they hate chicken farms PERIOD! Their goal is to put the chicken farmers, chicken farms and the chicken industry like Perdue Farms out of business.

Maria Payan is a fat POS that looks like she dates the Blubber Blogger, but she is actually dirtier looking than he is. She is nasty and she should not be allowed to speak at any meetings because she is not a city or county resident.

No one from the City Council should be listening to all the names I have seen mentioned because they are not city residents or city tax payer. Send them back to where they came from.

Here is something that Ellen Florio Bethel posted on her FB Page. Ellen Florio Bethel is the President of the Republican Women of Wicomico Club. She claims to be a Christian, a Conservative and a Republican, but she has the nerve to get in front of that Council Meeting and that Hearing and just tell bald faced lies about the chicken farmers. On her Facebook post below she says she isn't against farmers but we know that is a lie. A good Republican wouldn't be attacking another person about their property rights. The bottom line is they don't want a chicken house built next to them. They don't mind a cornfield at times, but no chicken house. Well guess what you live in farm country and growing chickens is farming. Funny how her an Gabby Marie are the experts and feel it necessary to tell the County how chicken houses should be built. The Republicans should kick her out of the Party and disown that fake.

County Council Meeting Monday at 10am for work session over the A-1 vs. Designated Growth Area DGA, contact your councilman.
*DGA should have different zoning laws vs. A-1
*Next to the City line or expanding proposed City limits no NEW construction
*A-1 open for business with consideration of home developments, churches, schools, day cares, Senior living ctr's.
*3-5 rows of trees was already discussed... Berms are a good idea
* ft. from a dwelling A-1 200 - 600? from house next door or property line, from center of road or property line.? From Property Line!
*Local chicken farms should be able to continue their family business's but if they add new houses, courtesy put up a notice- zoning should require a Building permit it is construction just as you do for an addition or garage. Local farmers give back to the community. We should support them.
*out of state or country farms do not give back as our local guys they are only in it for the money and don't care about the residents of Wicomico. more than likely they will be still living in another state.
* Restrictions over the Paleo.. a must .. if the Council saw fit to shut down the dump in 97 this should be next. gas station put above ground tanks and the council shut down 4 yrs ago the Aqua Recreation park over the Paleo... the past council did a great job protecting the Paleo. City's very interested in this cause! Thank you City Council : )
*8-15% drop in home values, means drop in County taxes
*Health concerns, Asthma, ... a friend went to the PRMC for her situation.. 1st thing Dr. asked " Do you live near a Chicken farm?' look even the Dr. knows its bad for our heath... for many reasons
*John Hopkins study done to prove this health concern.
Our group is not anti-chicken some out there are but we are not. some got carried away with that notion we must get rid of them all.. not so .. join our group come to learn all the facts from the other side Library tomorrow at 5pm ask questions? meeting begins at 6pm

LMAO she has no clue what she is talking about and shouldn't be posting these lies. I go to the doctor all the time for my allergies and asthma and Dr. Patrowics has never asked me if I live near a chicken farm. I even work in the hospital and have never ever heard chicken farms discussed. The doctors are honest and say that the pollen is bad this year. They are absolutely correct. I also so into a lot of people houses and they are unkempt and rarely see a vacuum cleaner. Most peoples homes are hurting their allergies and asthmas. Let the doctor visit your house before you blame your asthma on chickens.

By the way that so called Johns Hopkins study that she only heard someone else mention is not even a sanctioned Johns Hopkins study so don't get you panties in a wad before you start telling your lies.

This crazy cat lady doesn't want the chicken houses built near her. She was also a big participant against the Royal Farms store that was built down her street. Thank God she lost that because that store is always packed and it's good for her. Funny thing is I always see her in there spending her money and buying gas.

Maria Payan, is a consultant with the group Socially Responsible Agricultural Project. Just check how unkempt and smelly she is. She is nothing but the Democrat "Occupy Wall Street" type that is lazy, unemployed and living off the Government. She is a typical Democrat who is being paid by these anti-chicken groups to agitate and John Cannon is allowing her to do that at the meetings that I have seen on PAC 14.

Consultant = Agitator.

I have learned that Consultant means you are unemployed or in between jobs as they say.

Did they get permits to assemble? Where was Jack Heath and his many letters?

If the paleochannel is already under assault due to existing polluters, is it logical to add to the burden?

Anonymous said...

What does the Salisbury city council have to do with chicken houses? I didn't know they built chicken houses in cities.

Anonymous said...

Use your forward thinking skills if you have any 10:41. Sby is looking to attract employers to the area. Good employers aren't coming if chicken houses are surrounding the city. History is proof. No informed person can deny this. No area including towns (where the houses aren't permitted because of zoning) within a region where industrial farming is prevalent has prospered and they drop further and further into economic decline. Salisbury residents who are represented by the council have not only business interests to protect but their own homes whose values will drop significantly if more chicken houses are built in the area. Again you can not no matter who tries deny the facts. Industrial farming kills areas. To say otherwise is lying.

Nitrogen and phosphorous are the problem with the waterways.
A report released a year ago by the U.S. Geological Survey, says the rural region's (the lower eastern shore) soils get nearly twice as much bay-fouling nitrogen and phosphorus per square mile as other parts of the six-state Chesapeake watershed. And it notes in particular that the majority of phosphorus comes from overfertilizing farm crops with animal manure, mainly from the nearly 600 million chickens raised there annually.

Levels of nitrogen in Shore ground water and of both nutrients in the peninsula's surface waters are "among the highest in the nation," said Scott Ator, a USGS hydrologist and co-author of the study.

"The USGS report says applications of phosphorus to Shore farmland over the past 50 years "have far exceeded the amounts necessary for crop growth." And though the Shore makes up only 7 percent of the bay watershed, it gets an outsized share of the plant nutrients that feed algae blooms and "dead zones" in the Chesapeake."

Amish farmers for almost 20 years now have told me that the soil around here is ruined and it's no secret that the crops don't produce like they do in other areas. Probably why Perdue is so intent on opening up the soy bean facility in Lanc co. It's not worth it anymore to bother with the soy bean around here the yields are so small. Farmers on the eastern shore are doomed because of the excess manure.

Not true.
