National Honor Society at WHS Donates Four Cases of Books to the Judy Center

Washington High School National Honor Society Collects Cases of Books for Preschool, and Early Childhood Students

Westover, Maryland -
Under the guidance of faculty advisor Scott Baker, social studies teacher, and National Honor Society President John Jones, eleven members of the NHS have collected four large cases of books in pristine condition. These books have been donated to the Judy Center.

There are easily 200 books for preschoolers, Pre-Kindergarten students and Kindergarten students. They will be distributed by the Judy Center to help families establish home libraries. Early Childhood Coordinator/Judy Center Coordinator Karen Karten said, “There is a relationship between the amount of books in the home and with student achievement.”
