The Fox & The Hen House

Last night a Wicomico County Sheriff's Deputy played a security guard at the "KEEP IT SAFE" liquor store next to Giant in Salisbury.

What we found very interesting was the while he was on the job he kept his vehicle parked in the "FIRE LANE," you know, the same place they write us civilians extremely expensive tickets for.

No, this was not just an officer stopping in to check on things. His vehicle was parked there for hours.

What is also interesting is how the taxpayers have their own security system for their own business. Hence, the fox & the hen house title.

Let's see. Five dispensaries throughout the County and Sheriff's Deputies collecting, (double dipping) additional money to PROTECT a business that should already be protected anyway! It's no wonder why so many Officers are making a good $100,000.00 a year.

The person who sent these images said to me, I wanted to steal something just to see if the obese officer could actually catch me. He guaranteed me there was no way the officer could ever do so. Especially since he was sitting in a chair. Must have been a LONG day, eh officer?

Why would he bother catching you, he would just shoot you in the back as you run away.

Good, maybe it keeps the lazy POS from parking there. I don't think they give out enough tickets in front of the liquor store. And yes they should be expensive tickets.

Don't see any problem...business owner must of hired him if he was off duty. I think, Police Officers should be able to supplement their income...they don't get enough from taxes to pay for all the "crap" they get thrown at them!!!! Yes, why case a sorry butt thug when officer has a gun????? One command to stop next sound is the 9mm.

1:07, Let me try to set you straight here.

His employer is Wicomico County, Job #1.

The "business owner", since you are obviously clueless, is Wicomico County, job #2. The dispensary is OWNED by the County. So YOU the taxpayer are paying him TWICE. Hence the fox in the hen house.

Third, he is ILLEGALLY parked. I already posted a few pictures of Deputies parked in Handicap Spots at WorWic while the Officer was taking classes. Obviously they haven't learned that they are NOT above the law.

Where are those pics of officers parking in handicap spots?

So,if they don't pay him the store would probably pay someone else right? I think too they should have privileges as a result of being in law enforcement....just no issue for me, they get enough crap and not enough support. Thugs and other low life's can refuse to listen, curse them, and get away with other illegal activities and laugh in their faces....so I say support the Police Forces!

2:22, Awe, poor police officer. Try working in any customer service and guess what, you'll get ADULTS treating you like crap all day long.

How convenient very few of you are talking about the illegal parking and instead want to feel sorry for the poor police officers being treated poorly by thugs. Wow, I wonder if they all think their jobs are a cake walk and everyone will bow to them whenever they're around.

Two sets of laws.
Right in your face and f you if you don't like it.
Didn't you see my fat ace wearing an "I can do anything I want" badge??
"We, the people" get a ticket and a fine.
HE gets a paycheck and a chair to rest in.....and remember this, too. That cop car was observed by probably 5-10 OTHER cops who drove by and did nothing to "enforce the law" -- because they, too, know about the "two sets of laws" thing.
And don't give a damn about what you think about it.
Keep cheering.

I like seeing. It was the first time heroin addicts haven't demanded me to give them in that area. I don't care if he parked on the sidewalk. ..

259 go to the academy and become a hero. Or sit home and keep being a dead beat with a key board.

Just like speed limits and cell phone use, parking laws do apply to police and emergency vehicles...

And there isnt anything you or culver can do, we are protected by the FOP. So stop posting garbage!

What is the problem with him parking in the fire lane in front of the liquor store?? Every other person that goes in that store parks there and no one does a think about it. Everyone from the college kids to the lazy fat people who can't get out of their own way.

Was he in uniform or plain clothes? On duty or off duty? If he was off duty then he should not be parking there. If he was on duty was he also being paid by the liquor board at the same time (double dipping). If he was being paid by the liquor board, was this secondary employment approved by the sheriff and what if any restrictions were there? Was this deputy working an approved overtime assignment at the liquor store? How much is the liquor board paying the sheriffs office for the ot officer? These are the questions that need to be answered.

and they deserve every penny of that 100k!

People here are clueless as to where their money goes. This is a crime to me, but other idiots here think it;s all just fine.

Is there a deputy at every private bar in the county every night?

No.

See a freaking difference here?

No, we are stoopidd!

Some things are not worth explaining, or discussing, . If you cant see the need for additional security at this location from now to 12/26 you are very short sighted. Just like the Board of Ed who hires deputies for events. WCLC hires security at this time of year. Security accomplishes a lot . and necessary. If you don't understand your very short sighted,

8:10 if they're willing to pay for it, yes. If they don't hire a deputy they can hire other security with less authority and qualification. MSP does it all the time. To all other who are negative, sound like a lot of jealous cellar dwellers. Get back in your mommies basements.

Pretty sure there are only 3 county dispensaries. Busters and Last Call are privately owned. Also I am glad there is an officer there. With the shelter around the corner there is a lot of panhandling, theft and drug use in the area. They are county stores paying a county officer to protect county employees, products, and customers of Wicomico Co. Giant pays a private security company from Delaware $40 an hour to have an armed guard there. At least the dispensery is paying a local law enforcement officer

I support our law enforcement officers and see nothing wrong. First they deter would be robbers with vehicles presence and others from parking in a fire lane. Remember, they have a radio and would know the vehicle needs to be moved if an emergency was called to the location. Citizen do it because they're lazy.

Never require citizens to abide by a law you wouldn't.
