Help Find A Missing Dog In Princess Anne: UPDATE

Duke has been found. Thank you for posting this. And thank you to everyone that kept an eye out for him. His family is happy to have him back.
Please help. This is Duke. He was last seen chasing after 3 black labs that had just attacked and ultimately killed his brother Jasper. He was last seen traveling toward Dublin and Kings Creek from Mitchell Rd in Princess Anne, Maryland. Please help my friend April Brummit and her family find him. They do not know if he is injured but we know that he is scared and he has never left his property before. We are all worried sick and want to find him as quickly as possible. April and I can both be contacted via Facebook. He is friendly but may be a little shy. I can also be reached by cell 443-783-4555

God our Father,
We ask you to help us find Duke,
our dear pet who is now lost.
We know that you
placed animals on the earth
for many reasons,
including companionship for man.
We therefore ask you
to help us find our lost companion Duke,
and pray that You will keep him safe
and protect him from harm until he is found.
We join our prayers with St. Francis,
St. Anthony of Padua, and all the saints,
and pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Not being familiar with the area I looked on Google earth. Woods and farmland. If out walking the area in search of him, tie a piece of your clothing (leggings work good)around you ankle area or attach somehow so it drags on the ground while you are walking. This will leave a familiar scent, that if he's lost he may pick up on.
This is how Lady (lost in Pocomoke) found her way home after missing for more then a week.

Oh, I am so sorry for your friend's loss of Jasper and for Duke missing. I am nowhere near that area, but I do so pray for his safe return.

This has been posted on LostPetPR on Facebook. Please please anyone with a Facebook could you please share especially if you know anyone in the Princess Anne area.
This is a heartbreaking story. Duke is lost after trying to save his brother and friend the cat Jasper. Jasper didn't make it and now Duke is lost. Everyone say a pray for Duke's family that he comes home very very soon.

I did hear the Labs who killed Jasper the cat are in the custody of Somerset County animal control. Maybe walk the area from where Duke was last seen to where animal control picked up the dogs?
I would be willing to help in a search if this family needs help. Let Joe know and I'm sure he would post any info concerning a search on this sight. Every night when me and my dog go outside for his last wee wee of the night, while I'm walking with him I say my prayers. I will pray for Duke's safe and quick return home tonight.

8:51 Jasper was not a cat. It was Duke's brother. Another sheltie.

2 or 3 summers ago we had a visiting Chihuahua Charlie go missing in our area of Bishopville on West Line Rd which is mostly farm fields and woods. He was gone quite a few days and his owner did hired a tracker to find him and the tracker found him pretty quickly. He was in the soy bean field quite close to where he went missing. I don't know much about the people other than they have a son named Kyle who works for the Ocean City PD. He would know or be able to find out who this tracker was. I believe he was a local man if I'm not mistaken.

Another tip is if out searching keep an eye out for his fur which may stick to the underbrush. I see my white long haired dog's fur getting stuck to stickers and other underbrush when we take walks in the woods.

While this is very sad, it is also extremely maddening because evidently according to FB posts, Somerset County Animal Control had been called *numerous* times over these 3 dogs running loose.
This *is* a tragedy that very much so was preventable and this should make every single resident of Somerset County very angry.

Well done JOE.

Glad you have the one dog back, there should be charges posted against the owners of the labs for not keeping their dogs up , it could just as easily been a child.
