Ravens losing record affects local economy

BALTIMORE —That's Ravens record is affecting local businesses and if it gets worse for the team, the shops will continue to lose, too.

It's been a tough season for the Ravens with a 1-5 record, the worst six-game start in franchise history.

"There's something to be said about that since all those games have been pretty close, and they could've been some wins that's for sure, so you just got to remain positive," Poor Boys owner Mike Tyson said.

The bad season has taken its toll on Tyson's sales of Ravens gear at his Dundalk store.

No one is supporting anything in Baltimore anymore, it looks like a ghost town on the weekend. Been to Fells Point recently and it was empty.

Don't blame the Ravens when EVERYONE is terrified to go to BALTIMORE PERIOD!!!! Your stores will lose money for awhile no matter what and the people you can thank are the citizens of your own town!

The ravens are a very bad football team. It will get alot worse before it gets better. But they are getting the result of what happens, when you pay an average QB a superstar salary. Flacco is only as good as those around him. And they are not good.
They let their good players go, to pay Flacco. And injuries also
took alot away. But look at players like Tori Smith, Bolden, Mcclain, all gone.
Will be years before they may contend again.

The Ravens have stuck all their eggs in one basket. Taking the bet on Flacco. He is a garbage QB who tosses lucky grabs and has had excellent receivers there to make him look good. Now we have met all our receivers go and look what we got.

It affects the local economy more than one might think.
If you go to any local sports bar/pub and the Ravens are playing at 1:00 the pubs will be full. a 4:30 pm. start, not so much.
Just this past week, they had a 4:30 start time. The game was not going their way. By half-time most of the "Ravens" fans had left. Bigger impact on the local economy than the pub owners would like.

Typical of Ravens fans. Whenever they are decent the fans are about as obnoxious as possible. One down season and you don't hear much about them...
