Yankees affiliate hosts ‘Blue Lives Matter’ event on anniversary of Michael Brown’s death

A New York Yankees affiliate is being criticized for hosting a “Blue Lives Matter” event honoring police officers in Staten Island on Sunday, exactly one year after black teen Michael Brown was fatally shot by police in Ferguson, Missouri.

Playing off of “Black Lives Matter,” a movement that calls attention to police brutality against black people, “Blue Lives Matter” was launched less than a year ago to “help law enforcement officers and their families during their time of need,” The Huffington Post reported.

This event was to raise money for the families of the two slain NYPD officers, who were killed in their squad car. Good for the Yankees, who've always supported our boys in blue!

Once again, what's OK for blacks, isn't OK for the rest. I'm offended by the current activities in Ferguson, blacks riot again, loot small businesses, taunt police, throw rock and bottles, shoot at each other and police..... But the ones who oppose this activity are wrong and racist!
