Health Occupations Class at J.M. Tawes helping Women Supporting Women

The Health Occupations Program, here at J.M. Tawes Technology & Career Center, is collecting supplies for Women Supporting Women. WSW is a wonderful local organization that provides counseling, education, awareness, and support to those affected by breast cancer. All donations stay local.

We are collecting chemotherapy care supplies until May 15th. As a reminder each week, we will highlight a "Think Pink Challenge Item". Our goal is to fill 100 gift bags with the following supplies:

Supplies needed (any size)
  • Mouth gel
  • Mouthwash
  • Biotene
  • Toothpaste
  • Chapstick
  • Unscented Lotion
  • Sugar-free candy-gum
  • Tums/Rolaids
If you would like to donate:
* See a Health Occupations student
* Drop donations off to the Health Occupations Classroom

If you have any questions, please email me. If you would like more info about WSW, check out http://womensupportingwomen.org/Home.aspx.

Be aware that several of these items need to be more specific, such as mouthwash should be alcohol free because many on chemo get mouth sores from the meds...not sure about the toothpaste. Probably should revise the list with specifics to avoid harming the patient. Thank you
