On Tuesday, April 14, 2015 deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of 5134 Reid Road, Vienna, Md. for a reported accident with injuries. Upon arrival it was learned that a that a 2004 G.M.C. pickup truck was traveling east of Reid Road when it drove off of the roadway and overturned in a ditch. The water in the ditch was several feet deep and caused the cab of the truck to become submerged. The pickup was occupied by 6 individuals, 2 juveniles and 4 adults. Two of the adults and one juvenile were transported to Dorchester General Hospital for treatment and released, a juvenile and an adult required no medical attention, a third adult identified as 19 year old Cassidy Lynn Stinton Of 6321 East new Market- Elwood Road, East New Market, Md. was transported to P.R.M.C. by Dorchester County E.M.S. and died from injuries suffered in the accident.
The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police C.R.A.S.H. Team and Dorchester County State’s Attorney’s Office are conducting the investigation and charges are pending the outcome of that investigation. The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Vienna Vol. Fire Department and Dorchester County E.M.S.
