UPDATE: 04/06/2015

On April 3, 2014 Denton Police received an anonymous tip regarding the suspect in this incident. The investigation led to a possible suspect, David Tyre, 35 of Harrington DE. It was also learned that Delaware authorities had also developed this suspect in reference to the Milford robbery. During the course of the evening phone contact was made with Tyre. It was learned that Reynolds may have been in the Liden School Road area. Officers from the Denton Police Department, the Caroline Sheriff’s Office, the Maryland State Police and Delaware authorities searched the area with negative results. A short time later it was learned that the Delaware authorities were in a pursuit with the suspect vehicle and believed Tyre was an occupant of the vehicle. During the pursuit Delaware Police deployed “stop sticks”, to deflate the tires, on DE route 18 between Bridgeville and Georgetown. As the suspect vehicle stopped officers heard a gunshot. When police approached the vehicle they discovered Tyre dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigation into this matter is continuing.
