A Letter To The Editor: Washington Hotel, Princess Anne

Joe: WICO is currently running a story about the rehab of the Washington Hotel in P.A. and how it will benefit from recent grants, etc. Garland Haywood is quoted in the article as stating that the hotel has a history of not allowing blacks inside and they hope this reconstruct will improve it's reputation.

WTF - "back in the day" blacks weren't allowed in any public places

The real question is who is going to stay in Princess Anne?

I'm tired of seeing it empty. It's an amazing building and needs to be renovated and used!!!

If you can get a "grant" by calling it a pink elephant than do what you have to do to get the grant.

Looking at it,this building really speaks of the Times back then. The way it was built and its character are really amazing to see.I would invite anyone willing to comment here to just sit across the street from it and imagine the thing in full operation. It's really a cool thing to do.
