Officer who died in crash had blood alcohol level of .07

PALMER PARK, Md. (AP) — Prince George’s County Police say an officer who died after crashing his cruiser had a blood alcohol concentration high enough to have been charged with driving while impaired.

Officers said in a news release Friday evening that speed may have also contributed to 26-year-old Officer Brennan Rabain’s death on March 7.

Investigators had reported the Rabain was off duty and driving his girlfriend home when he spotted a speeding car. Police said Friday that Rabain reached a speed of 106 mph during the pursuit. Officers say Rabain lost control of his car, which off the road and crashed into a wooden fence.

Guess that is why you are not a cop. This is unfortunate and sadly unforgivable

Very poor decision making on this young mans part, fortunately it only cost his life and there were no other innocent victims.

You don't have to read more. Its says it all. What do cops say???? If there is a problem call us. This guy should've been smart enough to do the same. Laws need to be passes that only state troopers are cops 24/7. If a wicomico deputy pulls this crap off duty and gets hurt we have to pay for it. Collective bargaining. And yes we pay officers thanks for your tiny contributions from your pay. Not to mention the second this cop got behind the wheel drinking he quit his job and became a criminal. Glad this criminal is dead and only hurt himself instead of good citizens that obey the law and their families.

He looks like a good young man? Why because he wears a cops uniform? Without that uniform you would think he was a thug. That's a fact jack!
Paying with his life is better then an innocent persons life. He quit his job the second he got behind the wheel drunk and became a criminal! I feel no remorse. Bad cop! One poor desicion by any cop cost lives.this wasn't a poor Decision. This is blatant disregard of the law he swore to protect. A criminal act that got him killed. Again cops feel like their stature exempts them from following the law because in this case he was chasing a speeder. Typical. Cops break numerous laws to tell you that you violated one. Lmao. Karma train!

Ruark was treated and acted like a king! Crooked as hell. Let a high school buddy walk from multiple child molestation charges. Took bribes and sex as payment for certain cases to be dismissed. I could write a book.
