What A Great Picture!

Seas, Sands and Skies
The past few mornings on the way to daycare my daughter and I have spotted two bald eagles flying overhead right off Main Street in Berlin. Each day I have stopped to watch. Today my husband took her and called me and said "grab your camera right now and come outside, one is just sitting there in the field." No shoes and in my pajamas, I grabbed my camera and ran. Absolutely in awe.

See them scavenging in the fields around my house in Sussex County all the time nowadays. Really just glorified buzzards.

The bird represents the lazy and the carcass are the hard working people.

5:13 if you don't understand what is so cool about the picture then you are probably too ignorant to understand any explanation as to why it is so 'cool'!

Pretty. I love seeing them and even though I too saw a lot this summer (Sussex as well, Williamsville to be exact) I can never see enough of them.

We have NO control over that. It's something new and hopefully temporary with blogger. We used to have the option to turn it off. We don't anymore.

I found this Contributor. Maybe it will help.

For those who may be using the new blogger interfaceThe option to turn off word verification is not there. You have to click on the setting symbol and change back to the old interface and then follow your instructions to turn it off, save and then switch back to the new interface.

Thank you for the help, however this is something new with blogger. We have the preferences set to OFF. You can read more about it here http://blogging.nitecruzr.net/2014/10/captcha-screening-added-for-anonymous.html

Wandering why often times my well thought out comments don't show up on this blogger. If the "prove you're not a robot" letters are too difficult to read (which often they are), I change it until I can read it, but still sometimes it never shows up on here. Wasting my efforts.

I live near Trap Pond in Laurel and we see then regularly now. The kids and I will just pull off the road and watch them fly majestically by. I love that my kids can see them "in the wild" now as all I ever saw was the sad old boy at the zoo when I was a kid. Matter of fact, just saw one last night on the way home and everytime...seeing them soar gives me a sense of patriotic pride. Always has.

What makes this picture special is the fact that with the use of DDT we came close to the extinction of these beautiful birds. They have made a full come back due to the efforts of ecologists. Too bad we haven't gotten rid of Monsanto yet....but we are working on it.
