“Since April, nearly 100,000 pounds of chicken nuggets have been recalled in the U.S. for containing plastic.... Perdue is recalling over 15,000 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets after plastic was discovered mixed into the meat."
-- From this August 13, 2014 UPI site:

In 2010 Perdue recalled 91,872 pounds
of chicken nuggets
also containing pieces of plastic.

Major sources are those that emit more than 10 tons a year.

-- From "Fact Sheet: Final Air Toxics Rule for Solvent Extraction in Vegetable Oil Production," at this current U.S. Environmental Protection Agency site:

The damage caused by hexane includes liver damage and a wasting away of both sensory and motor nerve fibers, especially in the nerves of the limbs (this is called peripheral neuropathy)....
Glial cells, found in brain and spinal cord, are killed.

Thanks for telling us the truth and how they are conning us.

There has been a giant active tank of hexane at the Zion Church plant for many, many years, and I don't see any exposure related illnesses from it.

As I said once before perdue is interested in money..money..money. perdue cares about nothing else. They run from the truth, they run from paying their proper share, count the maine tags on their trailers...and it goes on and on.

Too much at stake for full disclosure.Too much to lose and too many lives could potentially be impacted. We deserve the environmental truth, but we can't handle the truth. The void would be impossible to fill.

All the chicken producers have these problems , Tyson is by far the worse.
The government allows them to get away with things now , it didn't used to be that way , of course since 2008 things have changed.
The U.S. has to compete with China and Mexico , these two countries are very low in health standards. Washing their hands could a twice a month requirement.

perdue only thinks about one thing lining Jimbo's pockets. the way to shut him down is called lawsuit! But since he's bought and piad for so many politicians he'll get waya with it. most likely end up like dear ol dad, burn in hell!

Does your family eat chicken? From your gloom and doom, if so
I'm guessing it ain't Perdue chicken. Why is choice only to vilify Perdue?

Of course every chicken company will advertise to make their brand the best. My problem is I don't have much faith in government agencies who come up with these findings.

Chicken companies spend millions a year to be in compliance with federal regs and to improve the environment. When the EPA and all the gov, regulators find a problem, real or imaginary, the chicken companies immediately find ways to correct the situation, if it needs correcting,

As far as food recalls, all types of food services have this problem. You will not find much sympathy here on the shore for your "band wagon" to destroy Perdue or other chicken companies.

"... they run from paying their proper share, count the maine tags on their trailers..."

Yes, Perdue and most other truck owners title their trailers in Maine; it's 100% legal. So, what's your point? If you want to complain that Maryland doesn't have enough money why don't you blame O'Malley/Brown who wasted $269 million this year on a healthcare website that never worked?

I don't know what to think and who to believe. I do know of someone who has since died that got bladder cancer and the oncologists at a major world renowned hospital told them it was caused by the chicken farms and they see a lot bladder cancers coming from the Eastern Shore.
I don't buy any of the big brand chickens. They smell rank- literally and when you touch them the smell stays on you hands through multiple washings. I gagged just thinking about the smell so I couldn't eat it. I get my chicken from a small farmer and they aren't on bit odoriferous like the store bought ones. They cost more but taste much better also.

IDIOTS...they are a business!!! Maine tags are on every trailer basically in Salisbury and every other state!!! Its legal and everyone takes advantage of it even guys cutting grass with pull behind trailers. If you don't like Perdue and what they do good for the entire Eastern Shore move the hell out! Again idiots get all the facts...ANY COMPANY in the food industry from time to time will be involved in a food recall. NAME ONE THAT HASN'T!
