Troopers Investigate Home Invasion in Townsend

Townsend – One man was shot during a home invasion that occurred this morning in Townsend.

The incident occurred shortly before 4:00 a.m. at a residence in the 6300 block of Summit Bridge Road. Two armed black male suspects forcibly entered the residence by breaking through a door. One suspect entered a bedroom and confronted a 33-year-old male and 34-year-old female, demanding money from the pair. While this occurred, a 12-year-old female entered the room. The suspect held all three victims in the room until he received cash.

The second suspect entered another bedroom, which was occupied by a 21-year-old male. The suspect and victim engaged in a physical fight which culminated in the suspect shooting the victim once in the torso. Both suspects then fled.

The 21-year-old victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of the gunshot wound. His injury does not appear to be life threatening.

Both suspects are black males, 20-30 years old, who were armed with handguns and wearing clothing over their faces. Once is approximately 5'11" tall, medium build. The other is approximately 5'5" tall with a medium build.
