Students Fed Up With Michelle Obama’s School Lunch Overhaul — Menu-Item Snapshots Spell Out Why

Editor’s Note: Some of the language used by students in this story is of the colorful variety, just so you know...

First, about one million public school students said “no way” to their cafeteria menus after Michelle Obama’s anti-obesity campaign led to anger and frustration over food that apparently many American kids didn’t want to stomach.

But for those without other options, all that’s left is the power of social media and cell phone cameras when they simply can’t take another bite:

Government schools have become prisons for our children, why not feed them like prisoners?

prisoners eat better than this. they would go on strike and the ACLU would be breaking down the doors

If Michelle wants her kids to eat that crap then so be it, but leave everyone elses kids alone. She wouldn't eat the crap so what makes her think the kids are going to eat it. She needs to keep her nose out of what does not concern her.

I have never EVER seen such senseless waste as I do in public school cafeterias.
Fresh fruit (apples etc) just thrown away.

Shame on us (parents) for not instilling in our children that we don't waste food.

So, what did Michelle eat to get her butt so wide? She is a total waste.

and the newest numbers of morbidly obese kids is UP...you would think they are starving to death with the crap they dish out in the schools...try again Mooshelle!

So I'm just guessing the fact that these aren't real pics of a full school lunch won't deter all the negative comments.

I say give this crap to all those kids that get free lunch. Why should I pay for them. If my kid is paying with real money then he deserves better.

Amen 6:10

If you are a burden on society - eat this BS. Those of use who are paying should have free choice. This is America.

When we were in school, our lunches were way bigger than this and most of us bought 2. But, we played football or were outside all night not sitting playing on our Obama phone or our Obama internet.

No one should pay any bit of attention to anything that comes out of this common piece of ghetto trash's mouth. She a piss poor excuse for a human much less someone who knows what's best for children. She not only allows in her space but invites in her space rap 'artistis' who make their money selling to children gang life, drugs, criminality, sex, and every other vile thing that is becoming rampant within the black communities.
A few years ago she had a "poetry reading" at the WH and invited the rapper known as Common to perform. Nice huh?
You can take them out of the ghetto but you can't take it out of them.

So school lunch really didn't have to change in the first place. Most of the obesity comes from their eating habits at home. They are going to be fine as long as they eat healthy at home and excrise. So by breaking it down you get 1000 calories at home for breakfast. 500 calories for school lunch and 1500 calories for dinner at home so if you look at it a sixth of all their calories would be from school lunch compared to the five sixth from home.

I pick my kids up from school and take them to McDonalds for a nutrious happy meal every day.

801 thanks for highlighting the level of intellect this crowd is working with. Most people (hopefully) see something on the internet, then look to verify the truth. I see you work in the opposite fashion. I've got a hot supermodel looking to meet you. Please send me your bank account and ss# to contact her.

Take your tax earn income credit money and fix lunch's for these kids.

Ok. Let me be voice of reason here. Any program that the government is involved in has little hope of being successful. The sad part is that there are so many children that lack a quality home life that includes a mother and father as well as balanced meals and an environment that foster education and exercise. One size fits all does not work for school lunches any more than it does for underwear. Kids that do not exercise and student athletes have entirely different needs when it comes to meals.

The bottom line if MO were really concerned about childhood obesity she would push for restrictions on ALL food welfare programs. She won't do that though because her Big Food and Retail corporate handlers would get very mad at her, because they profit dearly off of food entitlement programs.

They need to just eat it and be thankful.A dose of 3rd world starvation would make Michelle's choices look damn good.
