Now if we can just do the same for other officers, state, city and county for all violations. Unmarked someone blew by me, no lights or sirens, on 50 going west, going at least 80 if not 90.
It's about time and 9:59 they are deputized us Marshall's and it was probably more like 110. Talked to one in Cambridge that flew by me and stopped to get a bite. Told me he was on his way to Baltimore.
And if we can get the cops to quit pulling out their tag lights (makes it difficult to identify who's driving/unit #) we'd be doing something. They're equipment should be fully operational.
11:17, you are spot on. I know 2 MSP techs who say they burn thru bulbs every time a unit comes in for repair. The drivers never mention it, but the light check is required at every repair occasion. They probably pull them back out before it even gets dark.

let me get this straight. the law says no talking on cell phones but the chief has to put a ban in place? What the law exempted police in his county? What am I missing here?

Agreed They fly around on cell phones when we pay good money for communications equipment for each vehicle. Even scarier to see one go by using the laptop at high speed!
Terrific! A true leader who leads by deed. Thank You. Perhaps MSP and all other counties could also set this example of good leadership, courtesy and respect. It would definitely be a great step towards a more positive public image!!

May be lawful for cops to talk on cell phones, but it still doesn't make it any safer for them than the average citizen. Just a double standard that makes cops resented
