BAKER FACES PRISON FOR REFUSING TO BAKE SAME-SEX WEDDING CAKE

Jack Phillips is a baker who declined to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple because his Christian belief is that marriage exists only between a man and woman. Now a Colorado judge has ordered him to bake cakes for same-sex marriages, and if Phillips refuses, he could go to jail.

Phillips owns a small business, Masterpiece Cakeshop, in Lakewood, Colorado. A homosexual couple—Charlie Craig and David Mullins—visited Phillips’s store on July 19, 2012, asking him to bake them a cake to celebrate their wedding. Although the Colorado Constitution defines marriage as between only one man and one woman, these men claimed to have been already married in Massachusetts and wanted to celebrate the wedding in Colorado.

Phillips is an Evangelical Christian who holds to the belief that marriage is between a man and woman. When Phillips bakes a wedding cake, he interprets it as participating in the wedding celebration, and he explained that, therefore, he does not make cakes for gay marriages.

wouldnt be a problem if I was ordered to bake a cake, but the bill would have to be paid and that bill would be HIGH so high he might have to find another baker

I'm unaware of anywhere in the founding documents to force any sale of any item to any persons. There's a basic reason we call it a "Free market" system.

Since Obama is Bi-sexual, this is why we have this stupidity... said...

Under the Separation Clause of the Constitution, The Government cannot tell you what to do...

Finally, someone stands up for what they believe in. Why is it all right for the gays to throw a fit and file a lawsuit, but the store owner after explaining his belief upfront and honestly isn't allowed not to serve this customer?

Sounds like the gays insist on shoving their disgusting life-style and beliefs on everyone else, but those with a differing opinion and belief system aren't allowed to have any rights.

Forget it. The gays are a bunch of emotionally, mentally sick and twisted individuals that are freaks of nature and not normal. Even animals don't mate with the same sex. These kinds of people are sick.

Normal people don't believe in this behavior and have a right to decline any participation.

I believe that I shut down my shop. Then if that is a problem then throw me under that jail. Then after all is done I would contest.

and whatever happen to go somewhere else if the company will not provide me the service

Yeah, so.... the Baker couldn't refuse to make a cake for an inter-racial couple. EVEN if it supported it's argument by religious argument (which some bigots do today AND Christians did in overwhelming numbers before integration was the norm).

Your religion does not give you the right to refuse service in the public sector. Not at all. To anyone. At ALL.

This is about equality. A business owner cannot refuse their products based on gender or race, the same applies to sexuality.

So you would have no problem making a cake top for NAMBLA ? That would be the North American man-boy love association...you say a business can't refuse?
I say BS.... Would you force a Muslim to serve bacon? You would be "Afraid to offend them", wouldn't you? So there is no difference here. Go put down your Kool-Aid.

He'll be baking his cell mate a cake or two.

@8:48

A couple of problems with your argument.

First, Nambla wouldn't be refused service because of a religious principle, it would be refused service because pedophelia is illegal. Not the same.

Second, a Muslim would yes, have to serve bacon if they worked in an establishment that served bacon. I assume you mean if a Muslim OWNED a store. Then, they could choose not to carry that product. By default, they wouldn't serve it. This, is not the same as refusing service for someone.

I am not "afraid of offending" anyone. How about YOU go put down your Kool-Aid, and apply your brain power for a change.

Many tried that argument in the south in the 60's not to serve blacks in the same restaurant as whites because their "religion" did not believe in races mixing.
BS to cover bigotry.

I could give a crap about gay marriage - it really doesn't bother me one way or another; however, I do believe that a business does reserve the right to refuse services to whomever they wish. It's just like if I were extremely drunk and walked into a bar and was refused a drink because of my intoxication. According to these lunatic liberals, I could claim that I have a mental disorder that leads me to drink and because of that disorder I my rights were violated and now that bar owes me millions. I'd hate to be a business owner these days. I don't know how these people do it, but I certainly respect them for trying.
