PB&J Deemed Racist

Oh the times we live in where food can be deemed racist. In a move Oprah would be proud of, Principal Verenice Gutierrez, of the Harvey Scott K-8 School in Portland, has labeled peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as racist.

Apparently, in a move distinguished by the superintendant of the school, an effort was made to, “improve education for students of color.”

Tell me, how does the lunch selection improve the implementation of education?

This is so far beyond politically correct it’s dumfounding. Gutierrez has determined that the fact that the PB&J is on bread, it leads to cultural sensitivity.

Now let’s break that down.

Thanks for this post. From now on I'm keeping a watchful eye on PBJ sandwiches, just before I gobble them down.I still regard tomato and mayo sandwiches the best, maybe because they're seasonal, but PBJ runs a distant second.

Tell this guy to make himself a PB&J on a taco shell, and get back to us on that one...

Go in to any McDonalds at lunch time and see just how many Hispanics are ordering big macs or whatever. No pita bread there! Peanut Butter and Jelly has always been a main staple and a good lunch sandwich for AMERICAN children. If bread offends some, just like our American Flag and the fact that we speak English, and NOT your language, then either adapt because YOU chose to move here and if you don't like it, go back. It's the same as if I was welcomed into your home and said, I am cold so turn your heat up as if I had a right to.
