UNNECESSARY SHUTDOWN RESULT OF OBAMA'S REFUSAL TO NEGOTIATE

As we begin with week three of the government shutdown, I wonder how many Americans are aware just how unnecessary a shutdown was from the beginning. If the media accurately reported how continuing resolutions work and the White House embraced using this tool, the government would still be up and running.

Instead, President Obama and Senator Harry Reid want to make this as painful as possible for the American people. Both have refused to negotiate. If the truth about Washington were reported, it would expose an arrogant, intransigent president whose sense of negotiation is to do it his way and his way alone.

lol, where to begin. It is hilarious how some folks twist themselves into logical pretzels trying to constantly bash their political foes.

#1 negotiate on what? The Tea Party wing wanted to defund ACA. How do you negotiate a policy that the side kicking up the fuss wants to outright demolish? Not trying to argue the merits of the policy, just pointing out what should be obvious.

#2 If government is bad, then shouldn't you be supporting, and taking credit for, the shutdown?

#3 The ignorance of what gov. is and does on the part of many (not all or even a majority) on the right was on full display. They said shutdown gov., then complained when they realized that gov. was playing a large role in advancing treatment for those kids in the NIH study. To the authors point, maybe he should look up three of the leading industries in the US; pharmaceuticals, aerospace, and agriculture. All three grew this big through a combination of private AND public investment. And while many Obama detractors rage about the economic growth of China and Russia, they seem to forget that much of that growth is through direct gov. intervention. The author of this piece is simply spouting hot air.

Thank you.

Let me hold a gun to your head and it will be your fault if I shoot you, because you didn't let me rape you.

Sensible people know this was the Tea Party doing, no matter how you want to spin it now.

This pos spins it, turns it around and blames others and morons believe him. The biggest problems are obammy, demoncrats and the ACA, NOT merely pointing out the problems.

Geesh. As long as he offers up someone to blame, other than HIMSELF, some of you will believe anything.

Why do you always have to learn the hard way and make the rest of us suffer?
