Line In The Sand Is Drawn In Rehoboth Beach

On a blistering July 4 morning, nearly 1,500 people jammed Rehoboth Beach for a Freedom Rally celebration featuring music, veterans and prayer.

A portion of the beach at Rehoboth Avenue had been sectioned off, but the crowd quickly overwhelmed the area as people lined the dune-crossing and the Boardwalk in front of a small stage.

“We were just hoping for a peaceful service,” said event organizer Christian Hudson. But the event far exceeded his expectations.

Hudson organized the rally after the Rev. Robert Dekker, senior pastor of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, was denied a permit to hold eight Sunday services at the Bandstand.

As the governments take away our Christian religious freedom it reminds me of a quote.
Adolf Hitler said "treat a man like a dog , in time he will act like one".
What he didn't realize was , in time the dog will turn on you andbite .

What a display of Christian Privilege if I ever saw it. Absolutely absurd. If this had been a group of Muslims, ya'll would have been beside yourselves.

This isn't about "freedom". This is about Christians being able to force their views and will on everyone else, and when they get called on it, they cry "persecution". Despicable & Hypocritical.

do all you can do and then "stand". we need more Christians and Christian leaders to do this. I admire this pastor.

11:48 Please explain how this is Christians forcing their views and will on others.

@1:50

These folks were not approved for their church service on public land, the local government said it had issue with the establishment clause, and they did not want to be embroiled in something like this. The same would have happened for any other religion. An approval would have been given if the purpose wasn't to have a church revival service.

They threw a fit, and went down anyway to FORCE people to hear and participate in their ceremonies.

I don't know how much more "Christian Privilege" you can get. Again, I argue that if a group of Muslims from a Mosque had done this, you would all be up in arms about how horrible they are.

Why do you act like and idiot?
Why do you think that Christians force anything on anyone?
This was nothing more than a gathering of people within the United States of America.
Can you feel the heat? Get used to it , you will burn baby.

So, 11:48, the right to free assembly is NOT a Constitutional right? What if those people decided just to gather there on the beach and someone stood up and offered a prayer? Would ya still freak out? We do not need the governments PERMISSION to exercise our rights, you know, the ones our "creator" endowed us with (Declaration if Independence)? I know how you must hate that the founders put that phrase in there, huh? The ones enshrined in that crazy document called the Constitution? You know, the one that specifically says no law shall be made "prohibiting the free excercise thereof" (referring to religion)? The PEOPLE own that beach, not some idiot bureaucrat. Assemble as they wish. Anytime they want to. And for the record, if Muslim citizens assembled, thats their right, too. I would just ask them not to burn any women alive, or behead any hungry kids, or blow off any explosives in the vicinity of innocent bystanders as they prayed to the bloodthirsty diety they worship... other than those restrictions, go for it...

Beachgoers in the crowd largely went about their business. Newark residents Bob and Suzay Cross said while they were not opposed to the rally, they would have preferred to see “less religion and more patriotism.”

God before country my dear people.

IF you read the article, you would see a permit WAS granted. Kind of destroys your whole argument doesn't it?
