Resume:
Greenwood, DE – The Delaware State Police has arrested three people after the culmination of a month long investigation into drug sales at a local motel.

On Tuesday April 30th, the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) and Sussex County Drug Unit concluded a month long investigation into illegal drug activity being conducted by Raymond H. Wood at the Greenwood Inn north of Greenwood. Detectives responded to the motel which is located on Sussex Highway and began surveillance operations on the parking lot. At one point, Wood and two females were observed leaving a room and entered a silver BMW preparing to depart the motel. Troopers and Probation Officers assigned to GTF then pulled into the parking lot behind the vehicle in order to make contact with Wood, who had active warrants out of Maryland for Violation of Probation, when he suddenly accelerated the BMW in reverse, striking one of the State Police vehicles. Detectives were able to take Wood into custody after a brief struggle as well as the two female passengers.

A search warrant was obtained for the room they were seen exiting along with the car. The search revealed a total of 750 bags of heroin, a fully loaded .40 caliber handgun, which was found to be stolen during a burglary in Kent County, over $1,000.00 in suspected drug proceeds, and other drug paraphernalia.

Raymond Wood and Charli Evans, who initially gave a false names, along with Donna Ferrell were all transported back to Troop 4 and charged with the above listed crimes. Wood was later committed to SCI in default of $75,000.00 cash bond while Evans and Ferrell were committed to WCI in default of $46,000.00 and $44,500.00 respectively.
