Is This Police Brutality?

A Mechanicsburg, Pa. man claims he's the victim of police brutality after he was tasered by three police officers in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. But did the officers really cross the line or did they use necessary force? NBC10's Monique Braxton has the story.

The kick may have been a little much but other than that he got what he deserved. The taser caused a lot less permanent injury than if the officers had to go hands on. If they went hands on, this guy would have had broken bones.

Broken bones are not permanent, they heal. Damage to the nervous system, if any, IS permanent. Police in general, and these 3 in particular, rely on the taser too often. People have been killed with these devices. Which also, is permanent. This guy got tased 13 times AND kicked in the head! But he deserved it? I hope you are a meatball cop and not a member of the public that thinks this. A cop will say that to protect and stand with one of his own, but a member of the public who would say this is totally brainwashed and only usefulness is that of being a sheep.

All this because he was verbally abusive to a bartender and was spitting in the bar? A little much if you ask me.

Okay, you skin head cops had your fun. You got to nonchalantly tase someone repeatedly and even got a bonus, kicking to the head.

Drop the charges, do your little indepentant (ha) internal investigation, find the cops within your policy and go on back to terrorizing the citizenry.

The guy can try to sue, eh, good luck. In 3 weeks all this will be forgotten until it happens again. And it will.

Let's see he's actively resistng arrest and the video doesn't show the beginning of the confrontation. Absolutely justified and good use of the taser in order to prevent injuries to the officers by going hands on. This guy is a drama queen and not a victim.

People like you 12:21 are the type who in courage this nonsense. Yes, the clown got what he deserved and may think twice in the future before acting like an idiot. This too should be a warning to other potential idiots wanting to "try the law". Order needs to be put back in our society from some level. The court route doesn't bother most because a fine and a little time is nothing to most hard heads. I've said it time and again that the police should be able to beat some a** once in a while. Maybe even randomly just to get some order back. Nobody takes them seriously because they all "got rights". Screw that.

The cops first tazed him when his hands were behind his head.

Cpl. Robert Whitman is a criminal sadist with State immunity. He must be stopped from ever holding a position of authority again. That means no security positions and dear GOD don't let him near children!
He is wanted by citizen's of America for crimes against humanity.

It's no wonder Jim Ireton RUNS from Rehoboth police.

Sounds like the guy's a drunk to me and needs to grow up. He's about to become a father and is spitting in a bar? We are only seeing a fraction of what happened-in other words whatever that whomever released the video wants everyone to see.
A word of advice to the woman-get rid of him. Should never have gotten involved with someone who can't control their drunkeness to begin with. Oh the other hand maybe (if's he smart) he will learn from this episode and refrain from drinking alcohol because he's obviously has some real problems handling it.

Actually the country needs more Cpl. Whitman's. We need to get back to some "old school" policing.

7:28, That's exactly what I saw, hands up and submissive in voice and act. Maybe that's in the Rehoboth cop manual as "attack" mode.
8:46, being drunk at a bar is not a crime, it's the accomplishment of a goal.
7:19, you need to lose that badge and gun immediately.

9:12 yeah....I will take old school policing. Police used to have respect for the community and wanted to help others. They wanted to serve and protect. Not seeing too much of that anymore.

Anonymous said...

9:12 maybe you should be kicked in the head a few times...

9:31 I have been and it's done a world of good for me. Sound to me like you and others like you should do the same. Maybe you wouldn't such a malcontent.

9:25 must be one of the new generation losers. The police in this case were protecting and serving. They took the db out of the establishment in which he was conducting himself in a disorderly fashion causing a threat to himself, others, and the establishment. Think for once in your life before you spout off!

First of all the guy was not ever "kicked" in the head so stop exagerrating. The video clearly shows the officer attempting to hold the moron's head down with his foot after he was told numerous times to put his hands behind his back.
Just hearing the language of these people-she says "I'm f-ing pregnant"-is enough for me to see that these are common low life's with zero respect for society in general.
Hopefully their 15 minutes of showing how common they are is over and they crawl back into their cess pool, never to be heard from again.

Great work officers.I wonder if continued spitting after he was taken into custody.

Anonymous said...

9:53 Just what I said about "respect for the community". Your loser comment proves my point.

Anonymous said...

DID you see this guys Wife, Woooooeeeeeee.

Anonymous said...

Stop resisting, is the bottom line.

Anonymous said...

Should have broke his jaw. Wouldn't be spitting after that!

Hey dummy, did you not read the comment? It makes perfect sense.

WOW! It's people like you that give cops a bad name. And they don't need any help in that area. You must have been acting Oscar worthy to get through the screening process. Identify yourself so they can take another look.

THANK YOU 11:31!!! Where's Lou (retired Chicago det.). What say you Lou?

They call it 'old school' for a reason. It didn't work then, and it won't work now. You punks don't even know what you're talking about, no surprise there. Let's go way back and have some real old school. Where a cop is called out and whoever accurately shoots the fastest wins. Or maybe dry gulch a few cops.

Do everyone a favor and draw a circle on your back.

Watch the video-it's all right there. The guy was noncompliant and resisting arrest.
Not only that while attempting to be cuffed the guy was grabbing at the cop standing by his head with his left hand and that's when the cop attempted to stop him by putting his foot on the guys head.
To say he was kicked is an out and out falsehood.
Even the wife was saying "stop it Jeremy" so it's clear she knew he was out of control.
The cops acted appropriately by getting control of the situation before it escalated by using the taser. The ball was in the guy's court and he choose to act up instead of listening to instructions.

12:07 it's liberal candy a**es such as yourself that have ruined order in this country. If you screw up take your beating and carry on. There seems to be no other deterrent in this country. Trust me, one good a** whoopn' and you'll think twice before you try something again.

Anonymous said...

Don't need a circle. Screw up and you'll know me when you feel my wrath.

What a couple of losers. She's yelling for Jeremy to "stop it" so he's obviously doing something he shouldn't have been doing.
Then leave it to losers like this to air their dirty laundry online for the world to see.

2:33 the minute you do something dumb you business becomes everyone's business. That why they say the people vs. so and so. All crimes are technically committed against society.

Anonymous said...

13 times stunned. 13.

Sorry but that is very hard to excuse.

Impatient is not an excuse to stun and stun again. Just wait a minute for it to sink into the drunks head he is going to jail.

Yes he deserved to go to jail and be arrested but the cops here lacked any kind of professionalism. They were in way to big a hurry to cuff him.

Anonymous said...

I don't know what video you viewed 3:34 but the cops showed extreme patience. He was told multiple times to put his hands behind his back and even after being tased several times still was attempting to grab the cops foot with his left hand.
Even the wife was telling him to stop it.
I just can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to show this video esp since the wife was telling him to stop it, proof he was as fault. Loser is an understatement!

This is stupid. So what were the cops supposed to do shoot him after he refused to comply after being stunned the first couple of times?

Anonymous said...

Absolutely 4:25. They should have moved on to their next piece of equipment in their use of force continuum whatever it may be.

The wife says I'm f-ing pregnant-class(y)ic! And Jeremy's as foul mouthed as they come. Goes to show you right off the bat that these are low class people who thrive on creating drama.
In the end all they've done is to show people what a terrible job their parents did of raising them.

Anonymous said...

The longer he remains un-cuffed the longer he remains a threat. Even with cuffs on some guys can still cause serious injury to others, themselves, or property.

I'm shaking in my boots. You seem to be under the false impression that no one will counter any bs you may throw their way. But that's good. The shock you will endure will be that much greater.

Try to argue that in court, Barney. You better get help doing so too. Your arguments on this blog are non-existent. Much like your common sense and comprehension.

April 15, 2013 at 4:25 PM

Two, then three cops, could not cuff a guy while they had cuffs in their hands and repeatedly tasered the guy? Lack of training on the cops part, or were they just enjoying watching him writhe around on the ground? And then a bonus, a kick to the head. You are right about one thing though, they were stupid.

Even if what you say were true, which it isn't, that is no reason to assault the guy repeatedly. You never heard a cop use bad language? Sureeeee.
