Common Core Fascism In Education

Students in some Albany High School English classes were asked to participate in the unthinkable this week as part of a persuasive writing assignment. The objective? Prove why Jews are evil and convince the teacher of their loyalty to the Third Reich in five paragraphs or less.

“You must argue that Jews are evil, and use solid rationale from government propaganda to convince me of your loyalty to the Third Reich!” read the description on the assignment, which the school superintendent said reflects the kind of sophisticated writing expected of students under the new Common Core standards and was meant to hone students’ persuasive argument abilities.

The TimesUnion reports that students were asked to digest Nazi propaganda material, then imagine that their teacher was an SS officer who needed to be persuaded of their loyalty by arguing that Jews are the root of all the world’s ills.

“I would apologize to our families,” Albany Superintendent Marguerite Vanden Wyngaard said. “I don’t believe there was malice or intent to cause any insensitivities to our families of Jewish faith.”

The TimesUnion explains more of the reasoning behind the offensive assignment:

FYI. "Common Core" has been foisted on the U.S. by the united nations. unfortunately the clueless liberals in charge at this present time have bought this evil agenda.
wicomico county has embraced this and some are already "touting" how wonderful it is.
you, as parents and grandparents, need to educate yourselves as to what this really is. don't believe what is told to you; seek out the info for yourselves.
our children in the government schools will be spoon fed this until they are totally brainwashed toward fascism. is this what you want? do your homework and get your children out of the government schools NOW.

We had to switch to Common Core since our minority scores were dropping during the No Child Left Behind final years when the required percentage of proficient students could not be met. Common Core as part of Race to the Top is a way out to avoid admitting we're spending tens of millions on a targeted group of learners with no gain in achievement.

there is no excuse to adopt common core in any school system. the admin as well as the staff are asleep and brain dead at this point. get your children out before it's too late. stay away from any government schools. it is your responsibility to raise your own children; not the government or the state. take responsibility now.
