County Councils Set 'Rain Tax' For Property Owners

Property owners in Baltimore and Anne Arundel Counties now know what they will be paying each year in the so-called "rain tax." That is the state mandated storm water management fees for all the concrete and pavement on a residential or business property.

The Baltimore Sun reports that the annual fee for single family home owners in Baltimore County will be $39 annually. For business owners there is a formula that will be set up with a fee for each square foot of impervious surface.

The Executive Director of Catholic Charities on Monday told WBAL TV he was concerned about the costs to non-profits for all the concrete and pavement at their facilities.

Time to take your business elsewhere.

Instead of calling for the slow death of politicians who think its OK to tax the RAIN(!!), citizens are debating the impact of this tax on this person or that entity. Politicians love it. Don't focus on the Nazi originators of these slimy schemes. Argue among ourselves about who will pay more than the rest. We SHOULD be arguing about the relative strength of the oak branches around Annapolis and whether or not they could hold more than 5 politicians at a time. Then start testing the theories. God Almighty. A RAIN TAX??? I said it before --- they will not stop until they stop breathing.

For Salisbury, starting next year, it will be much more than that thanks to Ireton and Day, Mitchell and Shameless.

In two years, those who voted for them will be praying that Debbie Campbell runs again -- for Mayor.

Is there no end to what a Maryland Democrat will find to tax its citizens on?
