Congress Exploits Our Fears To Take Our Liberty

This week, as Americans were horrified by the attacks in Boston, both houses of Congress considered legislation undermining our liberty in the name of "safety." Gun control continued to be the focus of the Senate, where an amendment expanding federal "background checks" to gun show sales and other private transfers dominated the debate. While the background check amendment failed to pass, proponents of gun control have made it clear they will continue their efforts to enact new restrictions on gun ownership into law.

While it did not receive nearly as much attention as the debate on gun control, the House of Representatives passed legislation with significant implications for individual liberty: the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA). CISPA proponents claim that the legislation is necessary to protect Americans from foreign "cyber terrorists," but the real effect of this bill will be to further erode Americans' online privacy.

Under CISPA, Internet corporations are authorized to hand over the private information of American citizens to federal agents, as long as they can justify the violation of your privacy in the name of protecting "cyber security." Among the items that may be shared are your e-mails, browsing history, and online transactions.

And yet we can’t “Profile” at the airports or train stations for Middle Eastern men with Muslim looking features and beards….. The government will allow the taking away of my rights, and I am a white German ancestry natural born American, that fought for this country and I am being spied on…. Yes this country needs a revolution, to teach those a$$holes in Washington who they answer too! This is why they are passing laws to restrict my gun ownership and my rights, under the constitution and bill of rights. They are taxing me to death so I can’t afford gas or bullets, and restricting my freedom to purchase things online with a bit of a savings. Yes I love my country, but I fear my government…. I don’t trust them for a minute. This bunch is the worst, (Obama and his gang), but the revolution will never come…I thought it might, but after this re-election of the biggest liar in the country’s history, my faith in the patriots of this country is gone…

here's how it works for all you peons! We took some of your rights in order to protect you. As you can see that's not working out to well. So now we are going to take away all of your rights so we can better protect you! At what point in time are you fools gonna realize all we care about is protecting our own asses and jobs. hopefully you won't figure it out until it's to late to do anything about it!

Why anyone would every think the government can protect us is mindboggling.
Atleast twice now they were handed to them intel about terrorists and failed miserably. First was flight instructor who alerted FBI to the odd behaviour of the hijackers and most recently the Boston bomber.
What's even more alarming is the fact that it took so long to catch this bomber. I can't imagine that there were too many people in Boston who were alerted to the FBI by a foreign govenment with regards to terrorist inclinations.
